in. On the one hand, you’ll have people eulogizing about the rose-tinted good old days when everyone just stoically carried on the Grand Prix while their peers burned to death in their cars around them

That would be me.....I also prefer American football before all the stupid rules to protect their investments they call quarterbacks and downfield receivers..

And Fox hunting

And Babe over Hank

Roger over McGuire or Sosa

Jordan or Bird over Lebron the sooty zip

Meredith or Len or the Snake smoking on the sidelines....Tom Brady smoked too hard to fathom ..lol...but not on sidelines

Not knowing who Megan Thee Stallion is would just be embarrassing, however.

Uhm, OK, put me in the "embarassed" (not!) camp then.

Actually, while fast-forwarding through the pre-race program, I did see Brundle try to put a question to some grossly misshapen ghetto bunny (the Stallion, I presume), and he got brushed off. So what. People actually talk about this crap?

In Motogp bike racing, that green excursion would incur a penalty?

I watched this video and others. I also watched Lewis and Max at Silverstone.

Brazil - Max ran down the inside to protect that line, Lewis came blowing bye on the outside. Max late braked Lewis to close the distance. The Redbull had more downforce which allowed Max to out brake Lewis. Max turned in, the car took a set (right side suspension compression) and Max maintained the same steering input throughout the corner. A front video showed Max's front tire lose grip (understeer) most likely do to exceeding the tire's friction circle limit (braking and cornering forces exceeded the tire's grip level). So Max's car was a car width off the right side of the track for a left hand corner, carried in too much speed and had understeer. The arc of the corner was always going to be out past the right hand exit of the corner due to the line taken, the understeering just caused Max's car to exceed the track limit. Max never changed the steering wheel angle, not to address the understeering nor opened the steering angle to 'run' Lewis off the track.

Now the real section of the video of the event was the location of Lewis's car. He was way outside the track limit. Why? Lewis knew Max's action would cause Max to go off track thus Lewis protected his car. If not Max would of hit Lewis.

Now go back to Lewis / Max at Silverstone. Roles reversed. Lewis divebombed Max on the inside, too much speed carried, tight arc cased Lewis to used all the track to the left at exit. Max did not appear to understand Lewis's action and thus was hit. I suspect that Lewis was moving Max over to the dirty side of the exit damaging his acceleration coming off the corner. Lewis just overcooked the corner and hit Max.

Now back to Brazil, I would suggest Max was just paying Lewis back for Silverstone. Lewis' Silverstone move was ok'ed so why not use it Max must of figured.

Max also was using the “I own the corner”. Go in deep and turn in late, the car on the outside cannot start to turn in since Max’s car was where Lewis needed to be to take the corner. This move prevents Lewis from attacking. Total screws up the overtaken car’s corner.

FIA release statement after Mercedes and Red Bull video meeting over Max Verstappen review

Mercedes and Red Bull met with stewards today to reach a conclusion over Max Verstappen's defence from Lewis Hamilton at the Brazil GP.

By ALEX MILNE
18:36, Thu, Nov 18, 2021 | UPDATED: 19:44, Thu, Nov 18, 2021

The FIA have announced that they will make a decision tomorrow over whether or not Max Verstappen will be investigated over an incident in which he defended against Lewis Hamilton in the Brazil GP at the weekend. Mercedes and Red Bull representatives met with stewards on Thursday to discuss the matter, with initial talks taking place at 2pm and then further ones at 5pm.

A final decision has yet to be reached, however, and a statement from the FIA released in the evening read: "Following today’s hearing with representatives from Mercedes and Red Bull, the stewards are now considering the matter and will publish their decision tomorrow."

Verstappen and Hamilton battled it out in one of the most intense Grand Prixs of the season in Brazil on Sunday.

Hamilton received a five-place penalty for taking his fifth internal combustion engine of the season, giving him a mountain to climb in Sao Paulo.

Yet by halfway through the race he had climbed to third, with Verstappen left looking nervously over his shoulder.

And with ten laps to go, Hamilton attempted an overtake ahead of the Dutchman before Verstappen forced him out wide.

While Hamilton took the lead and won anyway, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff believes Verstappen should have received a penalty.

An investigation was deemed unnecessary after the FIA consulted footage provided by broadcast cameras - but Verstappen’s on-board footage shows the Dutchman clearly didn’t turn as aggressively as he could have, forcing Hamilton from the road.

Mercedes have submitted a ‘right of review’ after seeing the footage, which officials did not have during the race but emerged on Tuesday.

If accepted and the FIA opt to penalise Verstappen, the 24-year-old could be given a retrospective five-second time penalty - which would boost Valtteri Bottas to second-place with the Dutchman dropping three points.

It is more likely that Verstappen would be awarded a grid penalty ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix this weekend.

"Of course I tried everything I could," Verstappen said of the race.

"But clearly, we’re just lacking a little bit of pace, a little bit too much. Especially on a track like this, where the tyre wear is very high.

"You have to use the tyres a bit more to keep them behind, and in the end it didn’t work out. But I’m not too disappointed, because I think this is quite a realistic result.

"At least we had a bit of fun, you know, battling out there. We still have a good points lead. Today was a bit of damage limitation on a weekend that was difficult for us.

"I'm confident that in the coming races we will bounce back."

Verstappen leads Hamilton by just 14 points going into the final three races of the season.

However, if he suffers a grid penalty ahead of Sunday's Qatar Grand Prix, the lead could be cut considerably shorter to set up a tense end to the season.

Hamilton will be looking to win a record eighth Drivers' Championship should he win the title at the end of the calendar.

Watch a 23-Year-Old F1 Car Smash a New Indy Car’s Lap Time at Laguna Seca

https://www.thedrive.com/accelerator/43195/watch-a-23-year-old-f1-car-smash-a-new-indy-cars-lap-time-at-laguna-seca

O’Ward clocked a 1:10.3, some seven-tenths quicker than the 1:11 he set in qualifying for this year’s IndyCar race there, and 0.5 seconds up on the pole time of Colton Herta. It was an altogether successful outing, one O’Ward looks set to relive, as McLaren CEO Zak Brown promised the young driver on Twitter that he’d see him in Abu Dhabi for an F1 test. So, even though the scuttled Andretti F1 deal means we won’t be getting an American F1 driver any time soon, plenty of us would be glad to settle for seeing yet another fellow North American in F1.

Yep, Toto can’t handle the pressure. May be interesting since Mercedes Benz has issues with racing and new partner Ineos expects results. Tic Tock Toto.......

I don’t think so...

Back in the ‘Blown Diffuser’ days RBR had Sebastian Vettel ram into more F1 cars than would be imaginable today. The Red Bull car just had much more downforce and could keep any racing line.

It just made me dislike RBR and Vettel as a combination.

It happened two weeks in a row mid season, Hamilton, followed by Botas, just when Max could overtake them in points. Hamilton was penalized a mere 10 seconds.
