CHILMARK - Black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. has received numerous death threats since he accused a white officer of racially profiling him in a controversial arrest last month, prompting Harvard University officials to suggest he consider moving, the professor told a crowd yesterday.
“You should die; you’re a racist,” read one e-mail that Gates recalled in his first public appearance since sharing a beer at the White House with President Obama and Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley, who arrested him July 16. The threats forced Gates to change his e-mail address and cell phone number.
Crowley was investigating a possible burglary at Gates’ home, which Harvard Univesity owns. While Crowley claims Gates became enraged and continued to yell despite warnings, Gates has alleged racial profiling and said he never raised his voice. A charge of disorderly conduct against Gates was dropped.....
As you say... or maybe the Ha-vad professor needs a smoke screen from investigative writers breathing down his back - looking into the previous break-in that he's curiously ambivalent about, his phony foundation being used as a slush fund for friends of Gates, his racist connections and public utterances, and who knows what's next... maybe an embellished credential or some borrowed work that found it's way into "his" professional writings - unattributed to the original author...?

He probably did not get a single death threat and he's totally upset about that. He blew up this huge affair where nobody but him did anything wrong and now needs to be bigger victim, but nobody has made a death threat. So he has to lie about it.
The FBI could immediately trace the source of a threatening email. He probably mailed it to himself if one was sent at all.
Agree the only thing missing was a GOP logo.

Gaters could not find a GOP logo and the KKK logo would not fit for some reason, so it had to go out without the proper ‘branding’.

Now ol gates is looking for sympathy, poor baby, he just cannot let it go BECAUSE the entire episode is HIS FAULT and he needs to keep that off the wall.
Therefore, we now have gates, THE VICTEM, of not only big bad police who have to take courses and teach endless 'how to not be a racists courses, but he is also the victem of terrible people sending him HATE emails....
Wonder if these emails are from friends helping him keep the race thingie going.

Man....Harvard has really stooped to new lows in the quality of the professors they hire...guess they have decided that PC and BS trump quality and integrity.

Still believe gates needs a good ol fashioned spanking and about 100 hours of community service, maybe teaching a course in 'How to show RESPECT to a police officer who DAILY RISKS HIS OR HER LIFE to ensure our safety'.
