My favorite car was a 64 Falcon scatback. I loved its sound when the glasspacks burned out.

Cool cars yes. But it’s also pathetic. Not one car in those ads was built in the last 35 years. They have some nice cars in recent years, but nothing that really stands out as best in it’s class and looks great too.

You will NEVER see cars that evoked such emotions anymore.
Especially since we are not allowed to drill for our own oil, refine our own oil, or have vehicles that have acceleration to them.

I laughed when the 100% MORONIC add series came out that said “not your father’s oldsmobile” and then proceeded to show some POS series approved by the idiot who was put in charge of olds and proceeded to kill the brand.

The “father’s olds” were legendary for having more nickle in the blocks, for being gentlemen’s sports cars.

GM was and IS run by idiots and the current GM is doomed to failure because they are not in the personal car business any more.

I haven’t seen a car come from Detroit that I’ve been impressed with in years.
Last car I actually liked that came from Detroit was a 1986 Chevy Cavalier station wagon that had multi port fuel injection and a speed package on it.
(Oopsies.)
It moved, but had the sissiest horn you’d ever heard.
Last Olds I liked was a 442.

Yes. Sorry I had to ask. I had suspected that might be the case. Good Job!

(Guess I probably need a 'plug-in' or two for Firefox, but I have always opted for lean and fast, instead of fancy. Actually, I just killed a couple of plug-ins yesterday, 'cause they were slowing things down... grin.)

No problem asking, lol. I make so many webpages that what is there to do with them than occasionally link one on a thread!

I believe Free Republic is running very slow, have been having trouble. I just deleted all my temp files, the cache and rebooted and it's still slow.
