VANITY - anyone ever sold a domain on sedo.com?

Sorry for the vanity, but I figure someone who is more "geek" than I am may be willing to share some pointers:

I have some domains registered through lvcs.net (all within the last 60 days). They were a company I discovered four or five years ago and have bought all my domains through them, since I've never had any trouble with them. Some domains I let lapse a long time ago, as I didn't need them any longer.

If you want to auction off a domain you own on Sedo, how does one first transfer the domains from lvcs.net to Sedo, since I believe that's a requirement. I couldn't find out how to do this at sedo.com itself, unless I missed it.

Also, I'm a bit confused by their pricelist. They say 10% fee, if the domain sells, plus another 10% brokerage fee if the sale is negotiated successfully. Not sure what the latter means, technically. So does that mean the minimum commission is 20%?

Lastly, just for the heck of it, a few months ago, I went to lvcs.net to see if g00gle.com was available and surprisingly it was (I swear - I wasn't on any drugs, either).

I didn't add it to the cart and when I went to godaddy.com, g00gle.com was also available there as well.

Anyway, I got distracted by something else that evening and when I went back the next day to try to buy g00gle.com I was shown the infamous bold red ALL CAPS text "G00GLE.COM IS ALREADY TAKEN." Please note the o's are actually 0's (zero's).

How did this happen? g00gle.com has been owned by Google since 2001, according to the whois info. Maybe they let the domain lapse? Is that possible? So even if I had bought g00gle.com I probably would have been sued by Google if I tried to sell it on the open marketplace?

Thanks for any tips on how to transfer/sell on Sedo. The reason I posted this here is that the FAQ at sedo.com is a bit confusing, at least to a novice like myself, and I figured someone here probably not only has dealt with them in the past, but likely deals with them on a regular basis.

Thanks again.

I can’t answer your specific question, but I can tell you that some of these companies are quite nasty. I had been waiting for my name to come available, so I put in a request at gate.com to tell me when it was available. I paid gate to let me know.

I got the notification and within 20 minutes after it became available, somebody in Norway snatched it up. Then he tried to sell it to me for $200. I told him to pound sand. I got it a year later. Clearly, gate.com sold the list of sites being waited for. At the very least it’s unethical, and possibly illegal.

I don’t trust any of those companies.

I transfered and sold a domain at sedo.com about a year ago. They told me precisely what I needed to do, and when. Their instructions were clear and sufficiently simple to follow that it was impossible to screw things up. Everything went exactly as planned and I received my share of the money in full wired to my stipulated New Zealand bank account. There were no hidden fees, just what we had agreed.

It was very professionally managed from end-to-end. I would not hesitate to recommend sedo.com on that basis — as you can see from this unsolicited public testimonial.
