That 2000 Volvo is a lot nicer than my daily ride, a 94 Ford Ranger. I can't believe they burned it up like that while laughing.

If you noticed, there was a long line of cars with their hoods up waiting to die. It makes me sick. It's so like the government to ensure that none of those evil engines can ever run again. How many expensive, cool things does the government chop up, melt, bury, seize and destroy every day just so ordinary people can't use them? I remember hearing about some scrapped external fuel tanks from aircraft that would have made a nice pontoon boat. They had to be chopped up and buried. Government stuff.

Maybe "engine destroyer" is on the list of "green jobs" we can all look forward to. Stalin is twitching. Marx is still dead.

Try buying your teenage son a new car sometime in the next five years. Such a horrible waste: potentially destroying 600,000 running used cars, run out of oilon purpose to create union jobs. Talk about featherbedding! Plus it takes 22 barrels of oil to create a new car. These cars would never have used that much *more* gas in its entire life. Just evil and a horrible waste. I'd never do this to my "clunker" PT Cruiser... What's next, cash for Grandma?

It’s about control, in this case, of your choice of transportation. Zero & Co. do not even want PARTS for these older cars to be used in other, similar cars. If people want to drive a Honda Civic (what I drive) or a Toyota Prius, that’s fine. But Obamao is trying to kindly, gently force everybody into doing so.

I don't think they necessarily want to destroy all engines (except, maybe, for Al Gore). They just want to destroy the unorthodox ones.

The "Cap and Trade" thingy will bankrupt the coal industry.

Without coal, you can't make coke.

Without coke, you can't charge a blast furnace to make iron (at least not in an efficient, relatively clean way.)

No iron means no steel. So the domestic steel industry dies.

It's OK though - 'cause we'll just buy steel from our good buddies the ChiComs, or the Indians.

Oh, yeah ..... and Obamamobiles aren't going to have much steel in them anyway .....
