Teddy's Supper

We had some fish today for tea,
a smoky, spicy, kedgeree.

Fishy aromas filled the air...
We ate a lot, but left some spare.

The kitchen door was locked and tight,
but Teddy fought with all his might.

He turned into some kind of Dervish,
Determined, he would have his fish.

I stooped to lift him, calm his fuss,
When all at once the silly puss...

Turned and sank his teeth in me.
In lieu of fish, I became his tea!

Not once, but twice, he sank his teeth in;
Nine bleeding punctures in my skin.

To Moffat hospital we went, hot foot,
(The doctor, laughing, thought it a hoot).

Now Teddy is in deep disgrace -
With such a look upon his face.

He seems to think it was 'my' fault,
that supper came to a swift halt.

Getting smoke? TONS of it. We have been coughing a storm this morning.
Went to my sister’s in Pasadena , and it was like a fog bank rolling in from the ocean...heavy smoke and lots of flames visible from our freeway! It is 101 degrees here right now.

Pollywog, I hope you are staying safe. It may be best just to get out of there, until they contain the fire. Smoke is very harmful.

When we had the fires here a couple years ago, I ‘evacuated’ because of the horrible smoke - and went to a friend’s house until they got it under control.

Good luck - and prayers will continue for you and your family.

Been nursing a balky computer


What a way to celebrate Caturday!
Scans, Restarts
I have cleaned out my user manual file looking for what a red indicator means on my
touchpad..Never found that manual..but I finally removed the no longer holding a charge
battery and all is well..I wasn't using the battery and rarely do.
.At least it's not freezing up anymore.
We are in for a cooler week..a nice change..Still no rain.

My laptop was set up with MSN as my opening page........and they always have news headlines there....well, I opened one of their news articles last week, and got a virus. Not sure how, but a box keeps appearing on my screen saying the page I am about to open is unsecured - do I wish to continue? And I try to click “NO” and it won’t close. Then I click the red X up in the corner - and it still won’t close. I have to push the power button, and shut down, to get rid of it, and then it comes up again. Now, I am having a horrible time even getting online. Any ideas?

The Northeast's weather is about as exciting as SoCal's is boring, but we're not prone to earthquakes and the Atlantic coast states south of us bear the brunt of hurricanes. Danny's rain is only skimming us and the rain is appreciated.

Summer this year was unlike any year, just as last summer's was and the summer before that, etc. This year it was about two weeks long and extraordinarily, record breakingly humid.

Our weather may be mildly exciting but the Northeast's beauty is far more so.

Won't be going to DC this Fall. Have been to a couple FR things down there a few years ago and I was hoping to but can't make those dates. My heart will be with you all.
