Your red geraniums and the white verbena(?) are so pretty with the blue rock bed. Red, white and blue - would expect no less from you on Honor our Troops Day. :)
Thanks, jaycee. I can't take credit for something I didn't do very much to! I only added the names and a few little details to that graphic. Just a quick response to LJ's Lemonade Stand. :)
You are welcome, Billie. I am much better, thank you.

Paula Deen’s Apple Fried Pies
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
4 McIntosh apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 (8-piece) container refrigerated flaky biscuit dough
Directions
For the filling: Add the butter to a large saute pan and melt.
Add the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice
and cook over medium heat until the apples are soft, about 15 minutes.
Remove from the heat and cool.
When the filling is cool, roll the biscuits out on a lightly floured surface
so that each biscuit forms a 7 to 8-inch circle.
Place 2 to 3 tablespoons of the filling on 1/2 of each circle.
Brush the edges of the circle with water.
Fold the circle over the filling to make a half-moon shapes.
Seal by pressing the edges with the tines of a fork.
Heat a deep fryer or a deep pot
halfway filled with oil to 350 degrees F.
Carefully add the pies to the oil,
1 at a time, and fry until golden brown,
turning the pies as necessary for even browning, about 5 to 8 minutes.
Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar immediately.
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED. |
Well, the names and little details made it just perfect!! It reminds me of a little Bistro in our downtown area (where they have mostly antiques now). They have their little yellow table and chairs outside and its a cheery looking place. Of course, they have lots of room inside. The Red Hats have been there twice. Good food also! One of their specialties is White Chili and it is truly good!
Oh..How pretty! Love the Bee Eaters!
I’ve been under the weather, Amy..but feel much better.
Happy Friday
Thank you yorkie! This may be a fried apple pie even I could make. My mother used to make them the old fashioned way and of course they were delicious.
I saw Paula do fried apple pies a long time ago but I just never got on the website and looked it up. I will grab this one for my Recipes file! I do make one of her recipes called “The Lady’s Mac and Cheese” and it is goooood!
Another recipe that makes me go YUM..Thanks, yorkie!
Happy FRYday.
Those are Bee Eaters? I don’t know the names of a lot of different birds - just if they’re pretty or not! LOL (they’re ALL pretty!)
I loved the Red Friday graphic this morning. Very sweet! I did not know what the birds were until Meg told us. Very interesting! (I did not know that there was a bird named Bee Eater...I must look that up)!
A little late but ...
((((( SJB )))))
:^ )
I love to eat in little Bistros! I am working on a Girls Weekend Out at the River Walk in San Antonio in a couple of months - all the ‘cafes’ and their little tables along the river are so much fun. Love to sit and watch the people, feed the pigeons, and just relax with an umbrella drink. :)
I’ll have a glass with lots of ice. :)
Thank you, FRiends, for your sweet posts this morning - I need to get busy! Have a great weekend!
Thanks, Jaycee.
Fotki is unavailable this morning.
No graphics. :(
I just get a message that they are unable to process requests at this time. My posted graphics are still here so I guess that means members cannot log onto Fotki until later. Hope they are not down.
