I don't think so.
The Russian Army used rape as a weapon to control civilian populations in eastern Europe. I suppose this factoid will be written out of history...
Sad that this is all they have to be proud of in the last 100 years. We take pride in our military victories, but also our freedoms and comfortable life that those freedoms generate. If you look at the history of Russia, it's little but tyranny, brutality, and poverty.
Da! Liberation! Occupation! It's a fine line comrade! Well, except that there is that pesky fact that they occupied many of the countries that they "liberated," for 45 years. Hmmm....
What's the difference except the German's were ahead of the curve and a bit more efficient?

Revisionist history means never having to learn from the lessons of the past.
Socialism is built on lies.
No nation can say history, history, history, 80 year blank spot, history, history, history.
Especially when that 80 year history is also the history of the world suffering it's greatest horror's and evils.
The USSR was actually worse than Hitler and Nazism and it isn't over yet, a quarter of the world's population is still under the domination of communism, we still don't know when the legacy of the USSR will end, or if it will at all. Actually their legacy will live on forever, you cannot resurrect the dead or their possibilities if they had lived, or what America would be like if the USSR had not existed and reshaped our nation or the nations they conquered.
Not equal. The Soviet Union was much worse. BTT.
I saw the story on wp.com when they first made the complaint. One of the things the Russian historians objected to was the falsehood that they had attacked Poland, when in reality (!), the Poles and their German allies attacked the Soviet Union.
No, I am not making it up. Admittedly, I am no scholar at reading Polish, so I ran the page through google translator. While that leaves much to be desired, the gist of it was there.
Saturday was the anniversary of the Warsaw uprising, when a quarter of a million people died trying to chase out the Nazis, and the Red army camped on the other side of the Vistula, waiting for the Germans to defeat people who wanted freedom, and would have opposed communism and Stalin as strongly as they did Hitler.
I expect to learn that Obama has hired these historians to explain away the Bill of Rights.
