I think they have reason to be concerned. Hawaii is a place where things can happen to you. Fast. If I were them, I would have made contingency plans to protect themselves and their families.
More than likely, at the very least they have been told not to say anything about it other than what they have been told to say. I rather doubt they came up with those press releases on their own. I believe that they are getting instructions from higher up the food chain. That would make sense from an Islanders perspective.
Not to mention the fact that there is a Trial that is scheduled in Santa Ana that is apparently moving forward. The integrity of the records needs to be maintained.
I hope to high heaven, they have covered their own backs!
