If Keyes hadn’t entered the race? Or if Ryan hadn’t had to pull out?

Ryan might have had a chance, but was behind in the polls. Keyes never had a chance, due to his late start and having to establish residency in IL.

Something similar to this story was posted before.
There is a link to a video, but it doesn’t seem to work any more.

You were referring to a post up thread showing the % votes by each candidate and then noted Keyes got in late. My point is I don’t think it would have made a bit of difference when he got in with regards to his vote getting capabilities...

I wasn’t aware that Alan Keyes showed up for that race. Obama 69.97% Keyes 27.05@

Alan showed up and so did ACORN!

Actually, I was replying to the comment:

Had ACORN not “showed up” Keyes would still have been pounded. Keyes has never won elected office for anything. Frankly I doubt he could win a dog catcher race. I only came on this thread because it occasionally makes me happy to point out that “Doctor Keyes” is a pompous ass.

I recall this too - why is this debate not available?

This never happened. I have no idea who invented this or where it came from.

All of the debates between Alan Keyes and the guy they call Obama are on Youtube. Folks can go scour them if they want. If they do so expecting to find anything like this they are due for a disappointment.

I heard Alan Keyes on Plains radio once. He said he could not remember ever having said that.

I have no idea who invented this or where it came from.

I rarely listen to the disingenuous hack Medved, but I heard him shortly, I think Monday, during a birther call (hour?).

He dismissed a caller with something close to the following statement:

At which point I figured he was simply trying to be funny and at the same time mislead a bunch of his audience who might be ignorant that there was no reason for Obama's birth to come up in a senate race.

As usual, Medved's smarmy glibness so disgusted me that I turned off the car radio entirely.

He'd deny he would ever mislead any listener, but I think this thread could be the indirect result of that.

At best Medved indulged a sophomoric whim. However, not without good reason to think badly of him, I suspect that the "former" leftist agitpropper is still active. Every day he keeps his pathetic show he brings further discredit to Salem Broadcasting.

Bottom line, to answer your quandary: the invention may have originated with the "former" agitprop radical, Michael Medved.

The only way it would happen is if the majority of the public was convinced of it, and forced the hands of the politicians. If we give them a choice to save their own political careers or support a usurper, they might do the right thing, for the wrong reasons. Other than that scenario, I can’t see it happening.

”Keyes singing on the radio on multiple occasions, usually a few bars of “Over the rainbow”.

Gosh, I remember that! He was good, but it was kinda creepy!

Sorry about the Mail LC, I pressed the wrong button!
