the only one I broke off in 40 years was on an old Chrysler where some Stupid-Stupid-Stupid engineer decided the threads on that side of the vehicle should be reverse-threaded.

Love WD40. It keeps my ancient exercise bike going, and I have used it to unfreeze a car lock. Furthermore, the lock has not frozen since.

WD40=awesome.

The only ingredient in WD-40 is the sweat of Chuck Norris.

When applied to bait, proven to attract halibut

I read somewhere that WD-40 contains fish oil - that would explain your claim. I've also heard that it contains DMSO and some people apply it to sore joints. I've used it as a starting fluid to get my lawnmower going in the spring. Obviously a product with many uses.

“I’ve heard people say “never use on guns!”, etc, but I suspect that’s BS.”

It’s not BS. I gunsmithed for many years. The WD40 heads for the innards of the action, the trigger and firing pin. There, it turns into a hard amber colored varnish that slows down then stops all movement. I’ve seen frozen stalactites of it hanging under trigger housings.

G96 Gun Treatment is a very good gun lube.

PB is great for any penetrating needs.

The success of WD-40 is due entirely to a great marketing campaign.

I'm 48 years old and can't say I ever remember seeing a commercial or advert for WD-40

I had a can of it in my "tool box" as a kid though

Wow, great story, thank you for sharing

It's amazing what people can do in this Country when they are FREE to do so.

I’ll vouch for that. I once temporarily fixed the transmission fluid line on my Camaro with duct tape. Got me home. You can fix an awful lot of stuff with J-B Weld too. I wonder if WD-40 has molybdenum in it?
