Japanese Book Questions Obama "Hawaii" Birth (Saw In Tokyo Bookstore Today!)
Kazuyuki Hamada (translate by AmericanInTokyo) ^ | 23 July 2009 | AmericanInTokyo

Posted on 07/23/2009 2:15:42 AM PDT by AmericanInTokyo

A Freeper just this week asked me if books or articles are coming out on this hot issue here in Japan (i.e., the issue of Mr. Obama's alleged Hawaiian birth).

I replied "no", not to my knowledge--although other critical works are emerging.

Then THIS:

I have to admit I am picking up some disturbing racial undertones in the comments of Japanese drinking buddies. Their comments regarding Michelle are even worse.

I try hard to quell that because the last thing I want is for the MSM to pick up on the growing Japanese distaste with Obama and lay it all on Japan’s racist tendencies.

Fortunately, Obama is making such an ass of himself, all by himself, that there is plenty of ammo for the serious commentators.

I am convinced we haven’t seen anything yet. In fact, if that Kenyan birth certificate that was floating around on EBay ever does see the light of day, it will probably be through the Japanese media.

The press in Japan, i.e. the name-brand mainstream, is still undecidedly pro-Obama, but some of them are starting to break.

Whereas North Korea does not weigh on the mind of most Americans, it is a deadly serious issue with 99.9% Japanese, and since Obama is really endangering the whole island with his policy--which has been highly visible and picked through in great detail even more so than Ross Perot's charts--on nationwide Japanese TV, this seems to be the impetus to kicking off an increasing amount of criticism of Obama these days in other sectors. His weakness on the economy and unemployment. His prediliction for soaring taxes. We will have to see if it picks up as a general movement. Right now these kinds of books and magazine articles are only just starting--but I am starting to see them increase in frequency and intensity which is now definitely noticeable. There was almost NONE OF THIS AROUND here in Japan four or five or six months ago....but the adulation could not have lasted as we all knew. We just had to be patient. Stay tuned.

I got that, too, but very reluctantly and not profoundly.

On policy issues, at a grassroots Japanese salary-man drinking level, I am picking up the increasing criticism and doubts about BHO44...whereas it was nothing but sh*tfaced "Obama! Obama! Obama! Banzai!" in the wake of his election, despite drinking buddies generally knowing my own sentiments, they thought his election was the greatest thing since iced tea. I even had Japanese congratulate me about Obama just because I was an American. I informed them that nearly 48% of American voters were NOT for Obama, and they were shocked at that level. The media was blacking them out, too.

Yes, things starting to shift here in the world's SECOND LARGEST ECONOMY.

Obama is rushing his policies through so fast that it is naturally expected for there to be a lag in digesting the implications. The Japanese are a very fiscally responsible people I have been led to understand. If what he does economically effects their pocketbooks in a bad way...he will not get mercy.

Got the creds just now on this Japanese author, Mr. Hamada:

Born in 1953 in Tottori Prefecture (makes him 56)

Graduated from Tokyo School of Foreign Languages, Major in Chinese Languages

PhD from George Washington University (Politics)

Currently, Representative of International Future Technology Research Center

Director, Japan Biotechnology Venture Promotion Association

Committee Member, United Nations University (Tokyo Campus) Millenium Committee

Committee Member, Patent Agency, Government of Japan, Book Selection/Diffusion Subcommittee, and other titles, positions

(As I also mentioned, author of at least 19 other political books. Not a crazy, Japanese "right winger" I would say by any stretch of the imagination).

I was having trouble sleeping, so I turn this thing on to read THIS!

Outstanding... made me smile and when I get back to sleep here in a short bit, it will give me good dreams. LOL

They can’t say that it’s just a few right wing crazies that are asking for the truth.... now it’s being asked from around the world.

Thanks for posting it.

My purpose was to precisely show the intent and spread of it, this issue, that it is not limited just to so-called right wing wing nuts. I also know liberals lurking on this FR thread and others these days, some maybe even from the basement of the White House or over in the OEB, or OEOB, will cringe at the very sight of this. Good mornin' guys!

Not only that, there are now doubts swirling over the fact of whether he was even born in Hawaii or not, which would affect his eligibility to be President of the United States.

from a trickle to a deluge, from a deluge to a world-wide flood.

Darn it, that does it.

I am going back to that bookstore right now before it closes, and buying that book, I will post what I can as a summary/translation (keeping in mind copyright) if I get a chance. That is the chapter I definitely want to zoom in on...but it seems there is a lot of other interesting stuff, too!

It’s a shame one has to go all the way to Tokyo to find a writer who isn’t afraid of the Liberal/MSM establishment.

But, in our defense, a book such as this by an American author wouldn’t find a publisher who either isn’t worshiping at the Obama altar or is willing to provoke the wrath of America’s Leftist literary establishment.

That, and the lawyers would be out in regiments, their tort papers flying in the wind in contrails behind them.

Amazon.Com Japan is carrying the book, too.

Just went there and saw two reviewers' comments.

This one was gooood....

Saying essentially that the Obama fuss of six months ago, with all the media going crazy and Japanese going out and buying Obama's CDs of his speeches for English language practice, was just that, a *FAD* (boom). Nothing more (including Clinton-type corruption). There is no "Change". He also said "this book should not be so much the mask being taken off Obama", as "the mask being taken off of The Obama Illusion."

The inevitable disillusionment will only turn to anger if his policies disaffect them financially. Our economies are so linked that it is bound to happen.
