And I won’t watch it. I wonder how many will be like you and I wonder how many will be like me? Will the advertisers care? Will the PGA care?

Oh my.

Has the Security Council been notified? This is series.

Tiger looked stuned at his interview.

Go Tom!

Hmmm. Sounds like the cries of a jealous fellow golfer...

I drool over Tiger’s every shot too. I’m sorry he missed the cut. My choice after Tiger is Miguel Angel Jimenez. I’ve been a fan of his on the European tour. Hopefully he will finish in the top three!

Tiger is rarely seen on my TV. I have better things to do on the weekends than to sit on my @$$ and watch others on TV out enjoying the sunshine.

Now, I like Tiger even more.
He's human to me.

He's always been one of my favorites of the new crop, but dynasties are bad for any sport.
(See "Chicago Bulls" and "Michael Jordan").

Not that Tiger is anything like Obama, but it's always worse to see the press hoot, holler and make excuses for a candidate or any other figure.

Like the coverup, it's always worse than the original crime.

I agree with you.

Sports announcers slobber all over Tiger Woods like the MSM slobbers all over Obama.

I really like seeing others do well and will enjoy watching weekend golf w/o the Tiger fan club's input.

Because of Clinton slap-down, I will never stop loving Tiger.

Tiger golfed today like Greg Norman described one of his rounds during a Masters Tournament. When asked why he wasn’t able to pull off a win, he replied; “I golfed like sh@t!”

Go Watson! Talk about a ratings booster.

Your point is well taken. It’s not Tiger’s fault the announcers worship him. Even if you like him, you can’t help but get sick hearing about him.

It wouldn’t surprise me if half of the coverage for the next two days is about how “Tiger is still in the hunt.” No, I’m not ignorant about golf. I know he’s out of it, but the announcers aren’t going to know what else to say.

At the US Open in NY when Woods was effectively out of the contest they continued to break to him every time he made a shot regardless who else was addressing the ball and in contention. I only heard ONE other commentator later in the week suggest this was a tad misguided, and of course everyone else just sat there aghast that anyone would dare suggest otherwise. Don’t get me wrong, Woods is a great golfer and has his share of good as well as bad days - honesty in coverage is all we expect.

I think it is all indicative of our “rock-star” popular media. Branding, celebrity, and star power is what people purport to want to see, so it is hard to blame the networks I suppose if they think it will sell more air time. It was no different in the Women’s golf world where Kim was promoted way beyond her actual ability.

Yeah...I’m thrilled about not getting to see the greatest player of this generation, and possibly ever, play in a major! This is awesome for everyone!

I do not care one way or another if Tiger plays. But the fawning over him can get annoying.

I understand the need for the announcers to hype Tiger and it bothers me somewhat.

Today, most of the coverage should have been Watson’s comeback on the back nine or Duval getting it back to +1 or Daly actually making a cut.

However, what really bothers me, is when they show him first on the leader board when he is still playing and he is tied with someone who has already finished.

I tend to agree completely....I'm also sick of Dale EarnhardtJR this and that, every race, even though he hasn't done anything in quite a while....

I get fed up with media hysteria and sanctification of their selected "heroes"......

Since Tiger came along prize money has gone through the roof making not only Tiger rich but the rest of the players too so the field will miss him, even if you don’t.

i am a casual golf fan. the kind sponsors and networks really want to watch golf due to my age/sex/economic demographic.

i will not be watching this weekend now because tiger is not playing. we are witnessing the greatest golfer who ever lived and he's in his prime.

2 weeks ago i did something i have never even thought of doing. i DVR'd golf so i could see tiger's final round.
