Tiger Woods misses Cut.........Thank Goodness
7/17/09 | Gillmeister

Posted on 07/17/2009 11:47:28 AM PDT by Gillmeister

My wish has come true........Tiger Woods misses cut at British Open and my weekend TV viewing will be precious.

Now I don't have to listen to the suck hound annoucers drool over his every shot. Ever notice when Tiger hits a shot, it's brilliant.......but when another golfer hits the same OR better shot........it's OK ???

Sorry if this offends anyone, but I don't care. Tiger Woods will not be on my screen this weekend.....tee-hee.

Yeah...I’m thrilled about not getting to see the greatest player of this generation, and possibly ever, play in a major! This is awesome for everyone!

My husband is the golf watcher and if he’s in the house it will be on.

Personally, I do think Tiger is amazing! He also seems to have a nice personality as much as I can tell by only knowing him from TV.

At the US Open in NY when Woods was effectively out of the contest they continued to break to him every time he made a shot regardless who else was addressing the ball and in contention.

To paraphrase Howard Stern - "Tiger Woods equals ratings."

The original quote substitued "lesbians" for "Tiger Woods."

If she worked at the Dairy Queen and he was a used car salesman she wouldn’t give him the time of day. Me either, for that matter. The difference is, I can admit it. I wonder if he has a clue.

I understand and sympathize with the Tiger love by announcers (and I’m a fan).

I feel the same way about NASCAR announcers who can’t broadcast a race without making sure the viewers are kept up to speed on Kyle Busch’s position on the track. On every lap. He could be running 33rd, 2 laps down with 10 laps to go, and Fox’s Darryl Waltrip will wax rhapsodic about Kyle for the remainder of the race.

I do not care one way or another if Tiger plays. But the fawning over him can get annoying.

I understand the need for the announcers to hype Tiger and it bothers me somewhat.

Today, most of the coverage should have been Watson’s comeback on the back nine or Duval getting it back to +1 or Daly actually making a cut.

However, what really bothers me, is when they show him first on the leader board when he is still playing and he is tied with someone who has already finished.

How come the dimocrats don’t ban NASCAR due to the carbon footprint ??

I’m not a fan of either Bush brother. Jimmie Johnson’s folks live up the street...that, and the fact that he’s a incredible driver makes me a fan. Not much of a Hendrick fan, though.

I’m sure they’ve thought about it. Boy King could use the Chrysler/GM bankruptcies as an excuse to yank the Dodges and the Chevies.

Or they’ll just make them run Hybrids. You could turn your surroundsound all the way up and the debris flying around the track would make more noise than the engines.

I tend to agree completely....I'm also sick of Dale EarnhardtJR this and that, every race, even though he hasn't done anything in quite a while....

I get fed up with media hysteria and sanctification of their selected "heroes"......

Since Tiger came along prize money has gone through the roof making not only Tiger rich but the rest of the players too so the field will miss him, even if you don’t.

i am a casual golf fan. the kind sponsors and networks really want to watch golf due to my age/sex/economic demographic.

i will not be watching this weekend now because tiger is not playing. we are witnessing the greatest golfer who ever lived and he's in his prime.

2 weeks ago i did something i have never even thought of doing. i DVR'd golf so i could see tiger's final round.

Kinda a moot point, innit?

He's fantastically talented and a pretty nice guy, to boot. She's a supermodel, who may have more than just her looks to go by.

They've got each other, and apparently they're quite happy together.

I think Tiger's not the one who needs a clue on this one. You're just envious.

I imagine he’s been good for the ratings. I started watching golf on TV during the Tigermania years, but now I watch Tiger-less matches because it’s interesting.

What will those poor announcers DO tomorrow, do you think?

Ben Curtis. an 80 today? ouch.
