Does FR need a ZOT category? (Vanity)

I have a wee tiny suggestion for Free Republic.

Is it at all possible to have a ZOT category, just as for General chat, or smokey back room?

It would be genuinely nice to have a place where the shame of so many trolls could be put on public display!

Went to the corporate travel site to try to book my trip to Strasbourg. Grrr... every trip right now gives me only an hour and a half to connect in Lyon.

It could be, but I’m not familiar with that airport and I’d be clearing Immigration there. Depending on how they are set up and how well they staff Immigration an hour and a half might not be enough.

Yes, going through customs somewhere can take forever.

I generally allow 2 hours, even (or especially!) coming back into the U.S. Europe is generally relatively easy and quick but it only takes a little bit of short-staffing, or an official with an attitude, to cause backups.

The site gave me one routing that works pretty well overall -- but I have to change airports in Paris!

Hmmmm... Air France runs a shuttle. But that could eat up most of the 3-hour transfer... and security in CDG is s-l-o-w. Nope.

LOL, they are. The website I looked at mentioned shuttles.

They do that in London too, special shuttles that run between Gatwick, Heathrow and the other airport I've never seen. My last visit I took the 6 AM train from the town where I was staying over to Gatwick, then the hour-long shuttle to Heathrow for my flight out. For FAR less than the $100+ a taxi would have cost.

Other options include trains. From several airports in the area I could possibly take a train into Strasbourg. Or renting a car -- expensive but sometimes necessary.

Sometimes all the options make it hard. There are 5 or 6 airports within 70 miles of Strasbourg!

Note to self: get cellphone unlocked so I can leave the German cellphone home.

Yah. It's kind of funny to have a cellphone that doesn't even work over here. And a charger for which I have to use an adapter here. But the German SIM card will work in my phone and my phone works over there. It's just very expensive if I have to make a call.

Having a devil of a time just trying to choose an airport. Grrr...

I worked on bracelets.

I haven't had lunch. But I had a very late breakfast of two blueberry pancakes. And it has gone from solid white overcast to blue sky and sun.

I wanted to take the youngest sionnsareen up to Paine Field in Everett where, I am told, the new flight museum takes out two of its WWII planes Saturday at noon for fly-bys. They keep them all in flying condition -- except for the Messerschmitt rocket plane and the piloted V1 buzz-bomb. But the light was bad and I learned I'm still not well.

How went the bracelets?

The bracelets are rather slow, since they are macrame, and need lots of attention to make them work. I could have braided them, but I want durability instead of speed.

Still, it’s fun to do. Pretty simple compared to the macrame Christmas tree I made, once-upon-a-time. It hung from the ceiling, and was a foot off the floor. There were rings in graduated sizes, and when I got to the next-to-last ring, I made an opening.

Inside, I hung a blue light in a coffee can, got a 1/4” thick plywood circle, and put in a complete Nativity. Maybe some day, I’ll find the photos and put them on photobucket.
