NASCAR said Jeremy Mayfield once again tested positive for methamphetamine and asked the federal judge who lifted the driver's drug suspension to reinstate the ban.
The positive result from a July 6 random test was included in a U.S. District Court filing Wednesday that included an affidavit from Mayfield's stepmother, who claimed she personally witnessed the driver using methamphetamine at least 30 times over seven years.

I don’t follow NASCAR and don’t know who Jeremy Mayfield is but I do know that Meth can totally take over your life. More than Heroin, even more than cigs.
WHAT A MORON!!!
Damn I feel sorry for that guy, Meth physically changes the brain, he is an addict for life, even if he had only done it once. Damn it, that is so freakin sad.
Stepmom or what ever, Meth REQUIRES intervention. Few people ever get off that stuff alone, it is HEINOUS in the extreme. She may have saved his life.
You might be shocked at how commonly this drug is used, particularly in a bad economy.
Not to mention the fact, this guy’s career is done. In those other sports they get suspended for a couple games. If a team takes a hard line approach, some other team steps in and signs the player at a ridiculous salary.
Ummm, Jimmy Spencer.
And when was the last year Spencer ran as a driver? He could still whip half the field in or out of a cup car.
Something that many people don’t understand about motorsports is that the driver must always drive right on the edge of crashing. If you’re not pushing that edge, you wont win, or even be competitive, About the closest thing we regular drivers face would be driving on black ice!
Now isn't that like saying that guns kill people???
No.
Here is an article that explains what your body is going through while driving at 200mph. Perhaps it will change your mind, perhaps not. Interesting none the less.

Yes. I don't get all snobby about who is and isn't an athlete.
Sorry, That was meant to be a reply to post 36, my mistake.
No problem at all. Take care.
