Buy the gallon for $2.98....
distilled water would harm nothing and should not leave white spots.
99 cents a gallon if you find it on sale. Hope you aren’t going to fund your retirement with the savings.
I had always heard that dish or hand soap works ok - maybe mixed with water? I’ve used it, but can’t attest to freezing temps as we are in the South and don’t really have that problem much. Maybe someone else has a better idea?
Rain-X, by the orange gallon. Don’t need to use much. Not so good at cleaning off mud though. Great for all else.
I don't know...mix a tablespoon of bleach in a jug of lukewarm water or something.
Windshield washer fluid is chiefly water with enough methanol added to prevent freezing. As the table at the above shows, not much is needed. Be sure to measure by mass (weight) not volume, as methanol is less dense than water.
Pour the ingredients into an ice-filled lowball glass. Stir and serve.
The stuff is so cheap why would you not just buy it.?
Are you mad? Follow the directions! I will tell Obama on you if you don’t follow and obey like a good sheep.

Talk abot having too much time on your hands! It’s 104 outside and the last thing I am thinking about is freezing wiper fluid and hose. Maybe a little vinegar and water?

I love the Rain-X brand. $3 a gallon at Walmart.
Automatically coats your windshield with Rain-X. That stuff is great while driving in a rainstorm. You don't even need your windshield wipers.
How about RV plumbing anti-freeze? Should work OK and you could add a bit of dish soap too.

In a pinch I’ve just dumped a bottle of rubbing alcohol in and filled up the rest of the way with tap water. The 70/30 alcohol/water mix gets diluted down by the extra water but still has enough alcohol to prevent freezing. That would get me through enough winter driving to have time to get to a store for the real stuff.
Make your own? Urine.
