LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Rachael Ray has undergone surgery to correct a problem with her vocal cords, according to People.

A rep for the talk show host and all-around foodie said she had surgery last week.

“After several months of vocal therapy and on the advice of her doctors, Rachael decided to have a benign cyst removed from her vocal cord,” rep Charlie Dougiello told People, which first reported the news.

Dougiello said Rachael is taking it easy following the surgery.

“According to Rachael’s doctors the minor, non-invasive procedure was a success and she is already resting at home,” he added.

The chatty host of the “Rachael Ray Show,” who turns 41 next month, however, now has to keep quiet as she recovers.

“The hardest part for Rachael is going to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so,” her rep told the mag.

You are correct.

Also she is “cute”.

Sometimes being “cute” beats Sophia Loren looks.

2001? Seems like only yesterday he returned to the series a thinner version of his original self, having suffered a heart attack, I believe. May he RIP.

BTW for all the males drooling over Giada, she's one heck of a fine cook and I've yet to make something of hers that wasn't a hit.

If I remember correctly she never wanted to be in front of the camera. She had attended a French culinary school and was a pastry chef in NYC before getting tapped into television both because of her famous family name and her HOTNESSSSS. :)

If I could find them, I’d purchase hours of Nigella Bites and run them conastantly on my TVs ... yeah, I’m single after a long marriage to a darn good cook who looked good in the kitchen. Proxie anyone?

Alton Brown not only teaches better than anybody on food network but he is a devout Christian as well.

Couldn’t stand her voice before hope this will improve with her surgery. Like nails on a chalkboard and I’ve seen better cooking at an AppleBees

I agree. Used to watch her, but her Martha's Vineyard episode and love for the Kennedy's and being a Dem did it in for me. Refuse to watch her now.

I have a deep dislike for Sandra Lee.. plus my wife has a joke about her, she always asks what’s wrong with her breasts, they are unnaturally low, like they are growing (or fell) out of her stomach.

I saw one episode and I think she was close to drunk before the show ended. Never watched again.

Who is the goofy blond news woman who's voice got worse and worse and then we never saw her on TV again. She is the one who shrieked for joy on camera when Clinton won the first time. I'm thinking she had something really bad like cancer.

Rita Cosby?

Since cooking became my hobby, I’ve learned a tremendous amount from many of the food network folks. But Alton is the best teacher, gives the physio-chemistry reasons why certain things must be done in the correct order and combined with the right other ingredients. ... But Nigella just makes me cry ...

After looking around it seems she went to CNBC or MSNBC, gone now and she wrote a book about Anna Nicole Smith and supposedly Birkhead wants to sue her. She claims Birkhead and Stern had an affair.

This is one of my favorite Nigella shows because it starts with the little ones and preparing food for them.
