Two llamas on the lam in Louisville, Ky., have been safely herded and returned to their home, their owner says.
The llamas' owner, Dale Hill of the Louisville Llama Farm, surmised beer bottles found near the animals' barn indicated some party animals decided to free the beasts, which are raised for their wool, The (Louisville) Courier-Journal reported Saturday.
Hill said the 10 female llamas escaped, but only two -- Felicity and Prism -- wandered off the property. Prism was found along a road not far from the farm but Felicity was found by police and animal services blocks away. A family reportedly retrieved her and walked her back to the farm, located near the Louisville Zoo.
"The one who had seen the most of the city was Felicity," Hill told The Courier-Journal. "She really had a good night out."
Llamas aren't friendly animals; they barely tolerate their owners.
I am watching Spamalot right now - intermission - so a llama threadis very appropriate...
I know. One spit at me after I took its picture.
“they barely tolerate their owners”
Yeah, around here they seem to be mostly indifferent. Oh, they’ll come over and look at you (probably ‘cause they’re hungry), but then they’ll wander off and graze. Alpacas seem a little friendlier, but you don’t raise these guys to be friendly with ‘em. I like to think it’s because they’re delicious.

I bet she really strutted her stuff :D
Did you hear:
A one ‘l’ lama is a Buddist priest (lama)
A two ‘l’ lama is a beast of burden (llama)
and
A three ‘l’ lama is ONE HELL OF A BIG FIRE!
That's just gross, why am I laughing so hard...

¿Quien es mas macho, Fernando Llamas or Ricardo Montalban?
Here ya’ go.
{Sigh} Those dang Kentucky Hills, embarrassing the family again."
I used to fly with a guy that loved llamas. He had one of those deals where you could go packing with some of them.
We’d gotten back from a trip and were going up the terminal elevator to the crew room.
“So Archy, what exactly do you do with a llama?”
“Oh, they’re really nice animals. Very gentle and useful.”, he replied.
“But what good are they really? Why do you keep ‘em around? Are they delicious or sumpin’?”
He wouldn’t speak to me for months. ;-)
Actually, that was me. Sorry.
That’s a warning look, she’s giving the photographer. Next step, showing of the teeth, then green foam, then look out, cause it’s coming straight at the camera.
Oh yes they do, Lucy, if they are handled right from birth. One must always remember they are large animals. They are gentle creatures, at least the ones we had were.
