For some inexplicable reason (perhaps because there are no words bigger than ‘glowering’ and ‘smoldering’ in the entire 400+ pages of each book) this is immensely popular among teenage girls.

My youngest daughter is 17 years old and she has only a slight awareness of who these people are.

Of course, she is a Junior at a major southern college, majoring in Political Science, with Law School in mind...so, perhaps that has something to do with it.

She is either over-educated or under-aware.

I prefer the under-aware scenario, coupled with the fact that she is just too busy studying and learning to be aware of such vapid subjects, such as the movie you describe, or the actors/actresses that were part of it.

I’ll agree with under-aware, cause my sister is the same age as your daughter and also extremely bright, but she’s in high school so she’s surrounded by girls who do read those books and do probably feel ‘smart’ for reading 400+ page books that contain almost nothing but descriptions of how nice the male lead smells and how his body is ‘chiseled’ and his eyes are ‘smoldering’... also, where I work, you just pick this stuff up through osmosis, but it’s still a job that pays money so I’m not going to complain.
