Joe said the administration "misread the economy" 60% of Americans are against a second stimulus package. Will the administration draft Stimulus Package 2?
I don’t know about a 2nd stimulus but I will Stand Up For Chuck. This administration makes me feel numb...It’s so damn screwed up.
They’ve spent 10% of the first package, right? What did they spend it on? We should assess the need for the second stimulus once we know exactly how the first package was handled. The problem is, they don’t want to tell us.
It doesn’t matter if 100% of the people are set against it.
If the Democrats want it, it will pass. It is as simple as that.

or how about “Son of Porkulus”?

It was all about using our money to buy their own reelections. It's no wonder it didn't work.
1. Most of the money hasn't been spent yet.
2. Many of the projects aren't going to stimulate anything but local support for the politicians who grabbed the most money.
3. The stimulus didn't address the biggest problem - consumer confidence. Businesses know that this spending spree is going to result in higher taxes. Since businesses look to the future when making hiring and firing decisions, they realize that the higher taxes and Cap and Trade are going to hurt business. They aren't going to hire new people if they know the economy is going to sag. As long as homes are being foreclosed and businesses are laying people off, consumer confidence is going to lag and that impacts spending.
