I was in a resturaunt today and heard a song from either the sxties or seventies. the gist of the song was that as long as we are together we may not have much money... reminded me of different younger times. Any one have an idea what the name of the song could be.
I remembered the words as I heard them but cant put it together now that I am not distracted.
Dancing Queen by Abba? Just a guess.
I might try that...
The last song that got stuck in my head was Coldplay's Viva la Vida, which I like, but wouldn't go away for days. "Hear Jerusalem's Bells a Ringing..." Over and over.
Don'tcha hate that?
Maybe it was ‘Banking Queen’?
You can build
You can buy
Any house your heart desires
Ooooohhh...
Zewo down
Financing
I am the banking queen
Fwiday night and your cash is low
I know a place that you can go
Get your house and use it
Go ahead abuse it
You can do anything
Go out and have a fwing
I am the banking queen
Old and sweet
Dare to do our thing
Banking queen
Don’t compwain
Or you’ll hear me scream... oh yeah
You can build
You can buy
Any house your heart desires
Ooooohhh...
Zewo down
Financing
I am the banking queen
Told the bankers, Hey you guys
Make the loans or you’ll be... fined
My friends at Fannie sure need it
Do it my way or beat it
While the stock’s crashing
That doesn’t mean a thing
I’m still the banking queen
Never explain
A single thing
Banking queen
Don’t compwain
Or you’ll hear me scream.. oh yeah
You can build
You can buy
Any house your heart desires
Ooooohhh...
Zewo down
Financing
I am the banking queen
I am the banking queen
You know, hitchhiking along PCH with a mustache and tie-dye shirt was fun, back in 1973...following the Grateful Dead and just partying...now I’m a Federal judge and need to impose my Communistic views...
That’s it....oddly it brought tears to my eyes in the resturaunt
It sucks for identifying symphonic music though.
It tagged a Bach piece as being by Hanson.
I used to hitch up and down 95 with my green boyscout backpack, a bedroll army blanket and a bandana headband. God, I was young.
Hanson the teenybopper group?
It did for me, too...when I was playing it when I was working radio in another life........
LOL, that you had "Son" in your title (instead of "song') is what made me think you must be talking about the song, "Danny's Song" because I believe he wrote it about his brother who was about to have a son. So, I thought you were asking about the name of the son in the song. Yowzer.
Minds work in unusual wayss.
That's not even close. Maybe only pop music is reducible to that kind of machine-recognizable pattern.
Yep, the very same.
as my brother would say: Whoa!
Yes, I think Shazam concentrated on mostly pop music fingerprinting. It works so-so on jazz and does ok on Country music— which these days is pop music with a fiddle and steel.
Howard Hanson, a choral and orchestral composer, I would think.
The Wedding March?
Now I am listening to Jerimiah was a Bullfrog. I moved into my very first solo appartment with that song. Two cars filled with my paltry accumulation. I was sitting on the mattress on the roof if I recall correctly.
OK, that makes sense.
I just posted that I thought you were talking about Howard Hanson, you know, comparing relatively “classical” composers. Guess I should have asked!
