Mummy, where are my stripes? Pure white Bengal tiger astonishes keepers
By Daily Mail Reporter 06th July 2009
A beautiful rare snow white Bengal tiger doesn't have to earn her stripes because she was born without them. [Pic in URL]
The playful six-month-old cub called Fareeda is so unusual none of her kind exist in the wild today and she is the first-ever to be born in Africa.
Her parents Geena and Shiva are both white Bengal tigers and carry the gene for white colouring. Enlarge Fareeda is a snow white tiger cub who only has stripe markings on her tail But while mum, dad, brother Shahir and sister Sitarah all bear the typical black tiger stripes, Fareeda was born without them at odds of 100 to one.
In these pictures Fareeda can be seen resting at the wildlife ranch where she was born and standing out among her siblings soon after they were born.

There’s got to be a price for all this inbreeding.
What health problems are these white tigers heir to?
Gorebull warming to blame, no doubt.

Look at the size of those paws!
She will soon grow in to them. LOL
Awesome- thanks for the pic post!
UNIMPRESSED KITTEH IS UNIMPRESSED
I thought they said no stripes, there are clearly stripes on her tail. When she gets older stripes will probably appear on the rest of her body. Cute? Yes, deadly to humans when a grown tiger? Even more of a yes!
“Cute kitty!
Look at the size of those paws”
And growing like a weed....
I was just going to say how would you like to keep her in expensive sneakers!
Nice pet! Awesome pic.
Kitty!
