Still developing, but I hate to see this. McNair was a class act.

McNair was a good guy in a league that needs all the good guys it can get. Very sad. Prayers to his friends and family.

Is Nashville that dangerous of a place? Just wondering. I have never been to Tennessee. I hate to read about senseless crimes like this.

Rumor at Vanderbilt Hospital is that the girl he was with shot him, then turned the gun on herself. She wasn’t succesful at killing herself, and is on way to Vandy.

True, you never heard anything bad about him, both on and off the field.

Man! “McNair was a class act.” Being a Titans fan I followed his career, and he always seemed to be fine fellow.
RIP I enjoyed the way you played the game.

I think the fact that so many did not know who he was shows just what a great guy he was. I don’t know what that says about this country but I don’t think that it’s good.

This is crazy. It’s not clear yet whether it was a murder/suicide or double homicide.

WSMV-TV in Nashville has done some investigative reporting. The condo complex where McNair and the young woman were found is owned by Charlie Cardwell, a well known Nashville trustee. Cardwell rented this particular unit to Wayne Neely, who is a salesman at Nashville Sporting Goods, a sporting goods company that has been in Nashville for many years. The condo was apparently used for business/entertainment because it was empty for weeks at a time according to Cardwell. Neely let Steve McNair stay at the condo when he came into town to work on his new restaurant Gridiron-9. The restaurant has only been open a few weeks in the Tennessee State University area.
