Almost out of the treeline into the harsh winds which give Ventoux its name. Massive THRONGS of people up there!

The leader group is all together now. Kloden is leading the group. Shlecks, Contador, Armstrong, Wiggins all right on his wheel.

Looks like LA will hang on to his podium finish. I have to hand it to him - I would not have guessed that before the start of the race.

The winds are reportedly not as bad up there as usual & won’t be a factor - perhaps the fact that half of Europe is up there serving as a massive windbreak for the riders has something to do with it?

Top 5 back in charge, they’re glued to each other.

And now there are five together.

Andu Shleck, Frank Shleck, Alberto Contador, Lance Armstrong, Bradley Wiggins!

They are your top 5, they are together, and they are flying.

Maybe premature.. Wiggins drops and then digs deep and fired back up to the other 4.

Think what he will do in a year with no leadership issues and a year back in pro cycling. Being 38 will be working against him, but clearly being a freak of nature will be in his favor.

I think it will be one of the Schlecks - they have the most to gain, although Wiggins is certainly in that category as well.
