Today is day one! Armstrong riding. Astana is back! Predictions? Other comments? Does someone have the ping list from last year?
dont know - but where would you put the tailhook on the bike? Wouldn’t that add too much weight? ;-)
The skin he left on the road must be measured in sq meters....
That’s too bad. He’s a great competitor. I hope there is no serious injury ala Beloki a couple years ago.
Now 16 riders in the Yellow Jersey group - and they are only 1’18’’ behind the leaders.
The tailhooks are made of the rarest, lightest, strongest, most expensive material known to mankind - unobtainium.
Epo is used extensively in cancer and chronic kidney patients. It is a natural hormone made by the kidneys that stimulates the bone marrow to put out more red blood cells, helping to recover from anemia faster.
The only use in competition would be similar to “blood doping” but you wouldn’t actually have to transfuse, you could take the epo to stimulate your bone marrow.
Stupid move when they do that, because hematocrits too high put you at risk for strokes and other issues.
LOL
Now I really have to get back to work.
1’03”, Zabriski is time trialing down the mountain. Cadel & Sastre are waaaaaay back.
Only 11 k to go. The leaders 15 seconds in front of a group of four and 59” in front of Contador et al.
I think it was clear Sunday Lance could not go with him. It does still send a message though. I just think it is “I’m smarter than you are on a bike. I know better when to make a move, you better not slip up.”
The four in top will soon be eight. The yellow jersey group is now less than a minute off the lead.
Astraloza trying to catch the 4 leaders, 1km to go.
Astarloza attacks at 2k and gets a big gap.
Sorry, Astarloza attacked leaders, helluva sprint for the win!

Looks like Astarloza will take it.
Good call on Sunday. I do think though that Lance is letting him know not to sli up as you said.
Everything Lance said prior to his “Concession” Sunday has pointed to Ventoux. I think he may still feel Contador is going to crack on that mountain.
Sit back, do nothing to antagonize the Alberto, but be there to attack if he does falter. Typical Lance strategy, wait wait wait.
As you said “smarter on the bike”.
I do expect Lance to only attack if Contador falters though. If Alberto is strong, I think Lance realizes he will “WIN” by being the good teammate.
Astarloza, Casar, Fedrigo, Roche and van den Broecke are the five first on today’s stage.
The main field in 59 seconds behind the stage winner. No changes in the GC.
Indeed. I’m very curious to see how things play out if it is just the two of them left standing at the top of Ventoux. I know Lance wants to win it badly, will Contador let him though if he can go for the win?
