Inside Neverland: The stunning photographs of Michael Jackson's empty fantasy

By MAIL FOREIGN SERVICE 03rd July 2009

Gone is the zoo with its elephants, tigers and giraffe. The exotic snakes have long since slithered away, and the amusement rides have been dismantled.

The gates to Michael Jackson's fabled Neverland Ranch swung open yesterday to reveal a shell of the fantasy the boy-man had created when he was the King of Pop. [Pics in URL]

I love UK English: See the caption under one of the pictures: a “dodgem car”. Cool. Here in the US we call them bumper cars. It’s a beautiful estate, though.

The dark wood everywhere is depressing. The property’s trees, landscaping and pond are nice.

Beautiful indeed; wonderful setting, and a lovely estate. Hard to imagine (but not too hard) that dinning table outside was never used for a joyful family gathering.

I grew up in Cleveland Ohio (many years ago) and they were always called Dodgems when we went to the amusement park. Even in the U.S. I guess the name is a regional thing.

Gorgeous. The kitchen is so incredible I could sob. Larry King took a tour of the house and grounds last night and it just takes your breath away.

He spent his money foolishly...Beautiful Property no doubt about it...He should of turned it into a Bed and Breakfast, he could of made Neverland a place that would generate income for him and his fmaily for a lifetime....

He spent his money like a 10 yr old....His demise was surounding himself around vultures and bloodsuckers....

What kind of wood is on the floor of the bedroom? It looks soft.. or is it just dinged or reclaimed?

The KING OF PEDOPHILES created a trap to pull in children. It’s like some weird trailer trash Jerry Springer place - but creepier. I’m amazed people aren’t ashamed to be seen there.

He should have donated that money toward construction of a soaring Cathedral to the Glory of God whose judgment and mercy all of us and the likes of Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Donald Trump, Steve Jobs- will surely face.
