As the recession deepens and jobs in the ever-socialist Northeast get fewer and fewer, many people are picking up and heading S-ward...

are you kidding, they are the party of DEBAUCHERY, LGBT, straight etc. WE are the party of family values, therefore, when one of our’s falls it IS hypocritical. they are not. they are calling us on falling short of OUR OWN standards, not their standards.

if you had a water feature there, you’d have the neighborhood kids trying to swim in it! i just found a missing geranium. i knew i had three huge pots out there and then it was 2, and i found it, fallen over the side of the deck, laying amongst the hydrangas, trying to find it’s way back to the sun.

they are calling us on falling short of OUR OWN standards, not their standards.

That's Alinski's rule #4.

RULE 4: "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entity's very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

If we fall for the trap, we lose.

why can’t we live up to our own rules? why claim them if we don’t intend to live up to the most basic of them. i don’t fault them for holding us to them, i fault our people for failing to live up to them/

Oh we should try to live up to our own rules, of course.

That said, we know that man has a wounded nature, original sin and what not, so therefor it should not be a shock when one falls short.

for sure. but it is playing the victim to scream when the other side holds you to your own stated values and makes an issue of falling short. you can’t control the other team, but we sure as hell should be able to control ourselves.
i guess i am just sick of conservatives whining about the media, whining about the dems. we KNOW what they are like, they aren’t going to change EVER. it’s time to accept it as objective reality, stop bellyaching, and DO SOMETHING positive and keep our noses clean!

I’ve not even complained about the media.

To me this didn’t even raise to the level of something to complain about the media about, or do the whole “woe is me” thing that a friend of mine did.

The only thing that was mildly interesting about the whole kerfluffle was Kathleen Parker’s swooning over the Sanford love emails. I think she needs a boyfriend.

Hydrangeas are my favorite flower - I’m considering finding a shadier (not shady) place to see if I can get them to grow here

they are my fave too, i have a lot of them. i used to buy them to have inside during Easter and then would plant them outside after the blooms faded.

I don’t care about my yard. If I can keep it cut, that’s good enough for me. I think the various wild flowers and stuff growing in it gives it charm. I can’t imagine paying good money just to make sure you have only pure grass and it grows faster.

Ridiculous!

(Though I imagine I’m either going to need to invest in a machete or pay someone to come out and get rid of this wild grapevine that is trying to take over the garage. It’s engulfed a massive pine tree.

I wouldn’t mind so much if it actually produced fruit, but apparently that’s too much to ask. Then I’d have an ugly yard and wine.)

I’m in the suburbs, I just don’t care. Well, it’s older suburbs. My lot is almost an acre.

Mine and the houses on either side once were all part of the same family’s estate.

The rain is finally stopping, it’s been off and on all day. It’s good for everything to be wet.
