In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Sward
Noun
1. Land covered with grassy turf.
2. A lawn or meadow.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Helen Thomas suspected of being the prime carrier.
The rainy season has started so a variety of grasses and wild flowers are starting to grow plus of course the dreaded tumbleweeds. Actually it is pretty green here with the mesquite leaving out a couple of months ago and the other stuff starting.
helen is long overdue to fertilize some sward somewhere......

your “green” season is here? I have yet to see a desert turf anywhere.......I am thinking some day hubby and I will drive out to visit our kids.
I’ve been competing with my neighbor for the “best-looking lawn” title; today I nicked myself on the blade of my trimming shears. In other words, blood has been drawn in our sward-fight.
LMAO!

yep, they judge us lacking and fail to judge themselves at all.
Barack Hussein Obama has the blood of American soldiers on his hands. A fine way to say Happy Fourth of July to our troops. Barack the magic president used the distraction of the troop pullout in Iraq to hide the fact that he traded the murderer of five US soldiers for the bodies of five British troops. He released his brother just because. Happy Independence day.
Bush NEVER did this. We are now on new sward......
