In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Sward
Noun
1. Land covered with grassy turf.
2. A lawn or meadow.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

ti, tomorrow is a holiday and the class is playing hooky.....mmm.
Sward for the Day.
I like this......

Speaking about Bill Clinton's serial adultery of the 1990's...
that pic always cracks me up!
I just paid $540 to have my 25 acre sward sprayed for weeds. I hope to achieve a velvet green sward by eliminating goat weed, bitter root, and briars.
$540 to treat my sward is hard to come by in these economic times. (forgot to relate it to the news of the day)

Obama, the Teleprompter Bard
Eating franks in the White House back yard
Just a lib hack who’s dullah
Then Kim Jong-Il, or any mullah
He should retire to a serene rustic sward
Where do we send your prize???...
it’s a small fortune!

yeah, I could put that on my lawn after a long drought.
A+++
where is the pick of MO walking the dog when ya need it!
......I don't see BHO, MO and BO walking across the sward into the sunset just yet.......
scary as crap!
I read that quote earlier today - perfect for those who keep saying “the left does it so we should get away with it too”
Men? Who is the lawn expert in my home?
I miss that look in the NE - we can’t do that here with the small rocks because St. Augustine grass grows toward things, not straight up. It has little “runners” and the tiny rocks make it very hard to use a weed-eater to keep the lawn manicured. We tend to use larger rocks or paving stones that won’t go flying if the trimmer hits them.
