Side note...
I wonder how many people know how to pronounce “Puyallup”... :-)
Rhymes with “giddyup”, right?!? ;-P
I do.I played a job there a couple of years ago. It’s pronounced:”Pee Allup”.It’s owned by an Indian tribe. It’s about an hour from Seattle.Naturally, there is gambling.
I have a relative that used to be an exec for Olympia Brewing, and spent a few summers out that way. I'm in the know ;-)
Pronounce “Willamette”, “Scappoose”, “Sequim”, “Hoquiam”, “Deschutes”, and “Tualatin” correctly, and I’ll know you’re from the PNW.
If it was here in the South it would be pronounced
Pu y’all up :-)
Rhymes with giddyup, right?!?
Its pronounced:Pee Allup
Okay... as best as I can reconstruct it here... (in print)... its pew-yall-up, with emphasis on the second syllable...
All wrong. The pronunciation of Puyallup is easy to remember. It is pronounced as if the 'y' and the first 'u' were switched: "Pyu-allup".

I played that joke (pronouncing towns, rivers etc) on my family when I moved them here from MS. It was hilarious!
