I have a relative that used to be an exec for Olympia Brewing, and spent a few summers out that way. I'm in the know ;-)

Pronounce “Willamette”, “Scappoose”, “Sequim”, “Hoquiam”, “Deschutes”, and “Tualatin” correctly, and I’ll know you’re from the PNW.

Okay... as best as I can reconstruct it here... (in print)... it’s “pew-y’all-up”, with emphasis on the second syllable...

All wrong. The pronunciation of Puyallup is easy to remember. It is pronounced as if the 'y' and the first 'u' were switched: "Pyu-allup".

I played that joke (pronouncing towns, rivers etc) on my family when I moved them here from MS. It was hilarious!
