I never realized that I was "Cracker". I am of English, Irish, and Scots decent, until I walked though the gate shack at the plant I worked at.

The newly hired Black Guard, not a bad guy, asked a friend of mine who was that CRACKER looking, MF, bad words, meaning me walking through. I think that we are a genotype.

Yes, the word “cracker” has come to mean a low-class southern white as part of the long historical process described above. But it didn’t start out that way, and isn’t used that way in its country of origin.

A black co-worker called me a cracker. I just laughed at her and said nope I’m a redneck and she could kiss my redneck ___. We have been friends ever since.

And here I thought that Crackers were the white folks in the northern areas of FL and the southern third of GA. When Bob Graham was running for Gov. of FL, his running mate was from N. FL, and they were called the Graham-Cracker ticket. ;o)
