The word is out that the Obamas will be spending part of their summer vacation in Martha's Vineyard. "Many blacks from Oak Bluffs are elated that the Only One-in-Chief may be joining them. "People are going to lose their minds!" Tonya Lewis Lee says.
At the same time, there's also a bit of wariness among the wealthiest ones, an uncertainty whether Obama will affirm them. "Obama is more a man of the people," says a Vineyarder who's part of black high society. "He doesn't seem to identify with affluent black people. His wife definitely doesn't; she is basically a ghetto girl."

To call a Harvard lawyer a "ghetto girl" is absolutely ludicrous.
The dynamics of black society is very difficult to understand. We are probably the only race that has prejudices against other members of our own race. This anonymous member of the black elite simply said was what is said among her group.
If Mrs. Obama were light-skinned with hazel eyes maybe she might be a little more tolerable, even though she was raised on the wrong side of the track.

I tend to agree with you here. The list of epithets in the original post all referred to white people (mostly) of different nationalities or countries of origin/ancestry as opposed to races. I don’t associate Italians, or Irish, or English, or Scotch, or German, or French with races that match up with their Nationalities. I mean we did this in the past, I suppose with the Nazi’s referring to themselves as the Master Race (or trying to create it at least) but I don’t associate Nazi’s with Germans any longer.
When we evaluate the us of the term Ghetto Girl to MO, this elitist black woman from Martha’s Vineyard is referring to MO’s social status as compared to her own, and to a great degree her perpetuation of the victim mentality prevalent in the black community. This is a black person labelling another Black person (from the same country of origin - namely the US) with an epithet. I detect a lot of indifference here on the part of the Massachusetts Black ‘Elites’. I wonder if there is any connection between this indifference and the fact they keep electing dolts like F’n Kerry and Fatass Kennedy to the Senate.

In black (high) society, it has everything to do with color --- or, more accurately, skin shade. "Grade" of hair, eye color, lip shape, nose shape --- these things matter.
White people on this thread claim there is prejudice within so-called ethnic white groups --- and there is. But if you take a Cockney girl, and teach her how to move, how to speak, how to converse and how to dress and how to dance, then take her to a high-society ball, she'll fit right in. No one there will know the difference.
They even made a movie about it.
However, if you're dark-skinned, if your hair is nappy, if your eyes are dark brown, if your lips and nose are broad, no amount of polish, no amount of education or sophistication is going to ease your entry into black high society. Doesn't matter how pretty you are, or how much money you have, you'll always be "ghetto" to these people, simply because of the shade of your skin.
It's not the same.
Compare Michelle to Oprah. Oprah grew up in much worse circunstances than Michelle and doesn't have a Harvard degree...but acts like she has had $$$ all her life.
She has a monkey mouth and no, that is NOT a racist comment. I know people that are as white as the driven snow that have gorilla mouths. She is also built very oddly. Her legs are huge, her pelivis is abnormally wide making her legs very far apart. Her shoulders and upper arms are huge and her wrists look abnormally small. She has no boobs and her feet look to be at least a size 12-13.
It's not about the money, it's about the shade of skin.
As for her physique ... it's not that unique, at least, not where I grew up.
There are plenty of things about Michelle to diss ... let's not dwell on the way God made her.

Oh, and if you are a REAL African, well.....let's just say the American blacks hold you in a ton of contempt.
Is THIS ever true. They can't stand the way the African immigrants come here all happy about getting away from the strife and muslim takeovers in their home countries, keep their properties nice, teach their children to be respectful, are friendly to their white neighbors, don't play thumpers loud in the middle of the night or throw their trash around, and generally look blank when the AAs start with their gripes and chips on the shoulder. I'm speaking from experience in my own neighborhood here.
