Word For The Day, Tuesday, June 30, 2009

However, 80 million American households own roughly 300 million Guns (those numbers are from around 1986)....
Given the fact the military is a right leaning institution, and those households are not predominantly in NY and LA...I sleep just fine at night.
A leftist coup wouldn't last a week in this country.
I keep telling myself to go get my own gun, but have not as yet.
Think about it. If you worked for a place and you got 10 paid holidays each year, do you really think it would fly that you would only have 8 or 9 in a given year because of the way the calendar falls?
Holidays are not “days you don’t work” but rather “days you would otherwise work that you don’t and are paid for.”
my husband’s company gives holidays as well as medical and dental benefits.......it is pretty common out here in the wilderness.
;^)
It is Hump Day, well technically it will be at the end of the work day today.
i am aware that private employers give holidays, but i know for a fact that not all private employers give every single fed holiday. there are 11 fed holidays, i don’t think anyone else got inauguration day off, this year, outside of DC. and i think columbus and veterans days are not always given off by the private sector.
i cannot stand to hear him pronounce POCKistan.
Every business in River City short of retail establishments and fast food are closed Friday. Banks, us, all our vendors, doctors’ offices, etc.
well the odds are looking better for xsteen to be off on friday if that’s the consensus from non-governmental types. she will be happy.
4th of July is one of the biggies. Any real company will give off Jan 1, Memorial Day, 4th July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (2 days), and Christmas Eve/Christmas.
Easter-related holidays and deer-killing day may vary by local custom.
I thought she was working for some sort of lobby?
yeah, first day of deer season is not a common one, nationally.
non-profit, not lobby group.
Still, I figure they’d follow the gov’t schedule. For the big holidays, anyway.
4th of July is a holiday whther the Feds say it is or not. Unlike Columbus day, for instance.
I don't think that word means what you think it means.
Yeah, but they don't usually give TWO days off.
the health insurance coverage at xshub’s company is going to change. he had to discuss this with his staff at the staff meeting yesterday. he laid it all at obama’s door. their costs for covering their employees rose dramatically bc insurers are anticipating obamacare. he put it in terms they could understand by equating the amount of the increased cost to the compnay with the revenues from a portion of their business. he said that they will be further affected when obams taxes their health insurance, which they receive free of charge from the company. he said if anyone wondered he could tell them the exact cost of each of their health care packages that they would then be taxed on. everyone now gets the picture in a very personal way, what this will mean to their pocketbooks.
POCK-EE-STAHN
what do YOU think it means, senor montoya... ; ) ?
what a mooselimb pronunciation that is.
