Happy Hump Day!
!
Morning Dave!
mornin
wednesday is humpday........are you trying to change the natural flow of the average work week?
the xshousehold’s employers follows gov’t bc of where we live, i wasn’t aware that run of the mill private employers in other parts of the country, would be giving friday off.
This is a three day workweek. Hence, today is Hump Day.
It’s also Thursday in the sense that it’s the penultimate day of the week.
my husband will be home........he is sure to go in for overtime as he does most days.....but technically, they have the day off.
(We'll ignore the premature hump day comment...)
hh
LOL..........you are pushing it this week!
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Monday the coup that ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was illegal ....
BarryO seems to miss the salient points.
the Honduran military acted on the orders of the nation's Supreme Court, the step was backed by the nation's attorney general, and the man replacing Mr. Zelaya and elected in emergency session by that nation's Congress is a member of the former president's own political party...
a THREE day workweek? what, are you a UNION member???
ROR...I Just had that very same conversation on the elevator on my way into the ofc....
You think private employers don’t give a day off when a holiday falls on the weekend? Sure they do.
We have 12 holidays a year. This year, the powers that be decided to forego President’s Day back in the dreary days of February so we could have a 4-day Independence day holiday. So we’re off the 2nd and 3rd. Hence today is Hump Day Thursday.
The guys on my floor usually run out for Italian hoagies on Thursday. Yesterday, I asked the guy if we were doing that tomorrow, since it’s basically Thursday.
Last I saw he was mulling it over.
theOne is planning his own takeover, he is a fast learner - beware.
I will ask my brother if he is off in OH on Friday. i am not saying that NO private employers give it off, i am skeptical that it’s common practice in areas that are not gov’t related. in our area most employers have some nexus to the gov’t and with the gov’t off on a fed holiday, it makes sense for them to close. i know that our kids get days off school that my nieces and nephew never did, based on the same principle.
I just heard him on the radio, and he has an annoying way of pronouncing “Honduras” as well. Like a pretentious newscaster showing off their fake Spanish accent.
a 3 day work week for YOU, four day for most of us
