Well, there goes any hope for an Adam Lambert/Kiss tour in the future.
Kiss frontman Gene Simmons tells AOL in no uncertain terms that he thinks American Idol runner-up Lambert made a big mistake by coming out of the closet in his recent Rolling Stone interview.
"He's enormously talented, best talent American Idol has had, but I think he killed his career because now the conversation is not about his talent but about his sexual preference," Simmons opines. "He's done. You're forcing people to deal with issues they may not be interested in. Life is unfair, and the masses don't all live in L.A. They live in Wisconsin and Nebraska, and you're on crack if you think the same rules apply there. My advice is still the same, shut the f*ck up, just sing and let people say whatever they want."

Yup. That’s the ticket.
Then for the next ten years or so, everybody woulda been saying “I wonder!!!! Is he or isn’t he??? Just can’t figure it out...”
Hey, could happen...
A friend of mine's mother once said this about Liberace :-)
He began losing market share in his later years when he thought it was safe to just let it all hang out.
People, in general, didn't care for that.
The most important sentence of what he said. I don't go around announcing my hetero being, shut up about yours. I ain't interested.
His preference should remain his. He doesnt need to share it.
That guy is gay? Next you’ll be telling me Ru Paul is as well.
And the masses don’t all live in L.A. They live in Wisconsin and Nebraska, and you’re on crack if you think the same rules apply there.True L.A. you are alone.
You know the left is going to smear Gene as anti-homosexual, but he isn’t. I read his Facebook post and what he is saying is that it was a bad marketing move, and if Gene knows anything, it’s marketing.
The best thing that happened for his career was that he did not win that sorry ass show.
Didn’t somebody write a book suggesting celebs should “Shut up and sing”?
Good advice Gene.
Jealousy is so unbecoming.
I honestly think Adam Lambert was pushed into talking about his sexuality. He never mentioned it on American Idol, and it was only after he lost that others made a big deal of it.
Laura Ingraham.
Nobody pushed Adam. The way he made himself up and the way he dressed screamed “I am gay”. I think the only reason he didn’t come out during the show is that the show producers told him to zip it. They wanted to keep the show as politics free as possible. That’s the way to keep the greatest number of people coming back for more. The minute the show was over Adam was blabbing about his sexuality. I didn’t care either way as he’s an immense talent. But once he himself “came out”, it automatically became political. And he became an icon for the left. I don’t think that will kill his career. As a matter of fact, I think he will sell even more records as the left will snap them up, and the media will be even more gaga over him. However, I and thousands of others have been turned off by him becoming a political mascott, and will never purchased a record from him.
I'll admit that I've grown to love the guy and his family.
Anybody who goes on FoxNews and says that all Americans should have guns is good with me.
His kids are exemplary.
