I've never had much contact with cocker spaniels, but my king charles spanial, while no genius, attracts women like no animal you've ever seen. If that isn't a useful skill for a dog, I don't know what is.

Mine are the rugs. LOL They are constantly underfoot. When I sit down they lay on my feet, nice in the winter, less so in summer.

My sister-in-law has one of those yappy bastuges. I friggin hate the thing. We tried putting it out back with the real dogs (German Shepard and Chocolate Lab) but it tried that badass crap with the Lab.
The Lab just grabbed it around the neck and proceeded to shake. Wife saved the little crappers life. We had to bring in the Lab one day and my idiot sister-in-law let her little beauty out with similar results inside. Wife again saved the bastage.
The little crapper tries to write checks his butt can’t cash.
