Confederations Cup USA vs Brazil
(Excerpt) Read more at espn.go.com ...
if u were referring to world standings, I know we’re 14.

BUt the rumor is that after the Conf cup, we are AT LEAST 5 notches up after beating Spain.
IF we win, we are probably #5 in the world. 6 or 7 is conservative.
ESPN is carrying the game.
Also, it is on some of the justin.tv channels.

Phew! We made it to halftime.
Has Obama credited this development on his speech in Cairo yet?
GO USA
I’m actually watching mine on Ustream...Justin Tv is too crowded LOL.
I think the bigger impact will be felt years from now, as more American youth will be inspired to pursue soccer, instead of baseball, basketball, or football.
And more Americans will know who Tim Howard and Landon Donovan are, and American soccer players become more marketable.
Tim Howard is a freakin rock. I might follow Everton if we win today instead of Man U.
Yep, I have already switched my allegiance to The Toffees.
Howard is very good.
Second best American goalie after Friedel :-)
This second half will be all about Tim Howard. I think we can get another goal on a counter-attack.
Wow — the Euros own most of the top spots — if we beat Brazil (#5) we should really jump up (but I don’t know the points system). I also suspect mass suicides in Rio de Janeiro.
I don’t watch very often but I do like international competition, especially with non-EUU teams. This was a very fast 1st 45 — lots of offense.
How old is Friedel now? Seems like he’s been around forever.
Correct. If we lose, people will shrug.
In Brazil, they will probably burn down the cities and harm the players.
Seems to me that since the World Cup will be held during the “winter”, that next year this will greatly benefit the European teams, who would normally wilt in the heat, when the tournament isn’t held in Europe.
I don’t think Dunga is going to be there when they go to the World Cup.
Bradley is starting to look like a genius.
He’s the dude who said England would be their rival in the WC. I’d like to see which teams we’re grouped against. FIFA hates us so much they stuck us in the Group of Death in 2006.
Yep, and I was calling for his head a week ago.
I don’t know what happened, but this team looks totally different. Boys have become men.
Closing in on 40. Was born in 1971. Started his premier league career with Liverpool in the late 90’s.
Unfortunately work permit problems prevented him for debuting earlier.
But, a fantastic athlete still.
Then again, Howard seems to have taken on the mantle well enough.
Good luck in the second half :-)
