Funny thing is, Shep said the same things about Obama a few days earlier that he said about Jackson.
Al Sharpton said he changed the history of the world or some such nonsense. He had an impact on the world of music and entertainment, but world history? Did he lead a nation? Cure a disease? Invent something of use to all mankind, like the car or telephone? Write music or literature which will be considered the gold standard for centuries? Give me a break.
