Me too. But the ILLEGAL alien vote will probably get him by.

Wouldn’t jump on McCain here as much as you guys are. I think basically what John is saying is that Obama is “not failing” in getting his agenda pushed, and is infact, succeeding.

In that regard, Obama is doing very well.

Possibly. That didn’t work for the 08 presidential election though.

The ILLEGAL alien population is a larger percentage of the population of AZ than it is in the nation. For now, anyway.

No doubt, I get what he is saying. I urge McCain to do some pushing back on his policies though. Oh wait, thats right, McCain said he would pass a stimulus bill as well.

I feel unclean because I forced myself to vote for this lunatic, convinced that the alternative (Obama) was worse. Not so sure of that, now.

You know, I’ll admit, I used to like McCain. Oh, thats right, the McCain of 2000. Of course my own set of thinking has changed since then. Oh I will admit when I am wrong.

Utterly ridiculous. The man has increased the deficit by trillions, slapped leftist dictators on the back, grabbed as much power for the Executive as he could, tried to pass every liberal program he can, insulted our friends and helped our enemies. What is it that McCain sees as so good about this?

sigh....... I really, really wish people would post on fact vs emotion.

This should be a lesson to McCain to more carefully parse his words, this article and title are not what they seem... he didn't praise the job Obama is doing, what he said is Obama is doing a good job of getting his agenda passed.. not that HE (McCain) approved of that agenda, just that Obama is getting his own way so far. McCain needs to learn to never use the words "doing a good job" when he is talking about anything to do with Obama... as usual the media jumped on it like a june bug and wrote it out of context, same as they airbrushed out Obama's own comments on another subject the other day to take words out of his mouth they placed words into McCain's mouth. I am not a McCain fan, but I just wish people would get their facts straight.

He didn’t! Watch the interview — he was not praising Obama... he was talking about how much Obama has gotten his own way so far, not about his job as POTUS.

I hope McCain tries to run again in 2012 just so we have the chance to embarrass that self-absorbed traitor. Who were the dupes here on Free Republic who said he was the best candidate? Please, identify yourselves so that we can publicly chastise you. And somebody slap Hugh Hewitt for me.

Fair enough, but how does the fact that McCain saying, during the campaign, that he was for a stimulus bill equate to being emotional. I know what he said, as do several other people on here. My point on the matter was, that instead of saying what he did, as I agree with you on, he should have used it as a stepping point to criticize Obama on what he disagrees with him. McCain, in my opinion, is nothing more than a watered down socialist. The more I hear him talk, the more I belive that to be true. The man is for amnesty. He was for the stimulus idea, not saying he was as it stands, but these are not conservative ideas.

I was going to vote for the Libertarian (Barr) as a protest, but it looked like Obama was going to win this district (we split our electoral votes) and he ultimately did. So, I voted for McCain. A large part of me said it was better if Obama won because we needed a clear illustration of liberalism. Pres. Bush dragged down the view of conservatism and ruined it, and McCain was going to be much worse. Still, the expression "You can't win by losing" made me vote McCain. When Obama won, I felt some relief, though. We really need to see Carter II so that it won't happen again for 30+ years. God only knows how much damage the man will do in the meanwhile.

Like I said I am not a fan of his, but we are letting the media change the subject and prop up Obama when we fall into these emotional traps they set for us. I listened to the interview and what he said is NOT what is being reported — and I heard what he said during the campaign... I never wanted him to get the nomination in the first place, but the issue is what he said this morning and he did not give kudo’s to Obama for a job well done as POTUS... he is right, Obama is being very successful in getting his agenda passed, the GOP doesn’t have the clout to stop him, McCain’s error was using the words good job....

“Not to be combative, but like I said, most of us can read between the lines of what was said.”

This statement from the article says it all........

The Arizona Republican says that using a legislative scorecard to judge the presidency so far, Obama has achieved all his legislative goals.

I do understand what “Obama has achieved all his legislative goals” means. There is no stance in the negative or the affirmative. I just don’t see McCain as seeing it much different than the fact that he is not getting to sleep in the White House.
