Introducing Howard Dean, on Wednesday night's "Hardball," Chris Matthews indirectly compared Barack Obama to Jesus Christ as he introduced the former head of the DNC and 2004 presidential candidate as "the man who really laid out the path for Barack Obama. He was the St. John the Baptist...leading for that fellow." In the Christian faith St. John the Baptist is considered to be the precursor to Jesus Christ, so in Matthews' metaphor of Democratic presidential politics that would have to make Obama, Jesus. For his part Dean, justifiably, appeared uncomfortable with the comparison, as he appreciated Matthews' promise to "not make any further reference there to the Deity." After that awkward introduction Matthews, in the ensuing segment, went on to call Republicans like John McCain, Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney "imbeciles" for their various criticisms of Obama, as he continued his "idiot button" routine that he began on Tuesday's show.

“And the role played by Chrissie Matthews can likewise be compared to that of Monica Lewinsky with a previous President.”
When Chrissie Mathews made the comment that listening to 0bama sent tingles up his leg, where were the media to ask him for clarification by asking these questions?
Do any other men give you tingles, and if so what type and if you care to please offer their names.? Do these tingles only affect your leg, or do they also occur elsewhere? Are these tingles the same or different from those tingles you get from women, assuming that you get or have gotten tingles from women.
These are just a few of the many queries that could have
been asked.

Forget Letterman. This is the most offensive thing I’ve heard in the past week (give or take).

He was the St. John the Baptist...leading for that fellow." Chrissy's last hinge just fell off. They were both martyred. Then again, Obama keeps comparing himself to Lincoln, so maybe such comparisons are kewl so long as you're building up the mythos.
It makes me very uneasy. It's like they're courting martyrdom or something, including Obama himself. Doesn't anyone outside of conservative circles find this more than just a little bizarre?

The state-run media (thank you Rush) wouldn't find it bizarre if 0bama announced that he was going to enter a Dallas hotel by way of it's kitchen, then take a motorcade route on his way to a theatre to catch the show.

I honestly would not be surprised to see him take the “historic route” through Dallas, give a speech from that motel balcony in Memphis, or attend theater in Washington, DC. It seems that deliberate. And it’s creepy.
To: RegulatorCountry
And don't forget he would probably take the wife and kids with him to a certain shopping center in Laurel Maryland, just to pick up a few souvenirs of such an historic trip.

I'm not Roman Catholic, but I expect people that are Roman Catholic to be faithful to their church's beliefs. If I were a Roman Catholic, I would be livid at such people as Kerry, Kennedy and Matthews, who love to boast about being raised Catholic, but they hold to beliefs and practices that are contrary to their chosen faith group. No one forces anyone in this country to be a member of any religious group. When I used to listen to Matthews, which ended shortly before Obama was “chosen” as Chairman of the Democratic Socialist Party, he used to delight in ridiculing people of their deep religious beliefs. I got the impression that he thinks that religious belief is a ploy to win the votes of rednecks in the red states.
It does not surprise me that he would compare Dean and Obama to John the Baptist and Jesus. I don't think he knows the difference.
To: Justaham
Lithium. It’s not just for breakfast anymore, Chris.
