Introducing Howard Dean, on Wednesday night's "Hardball," Chris Matthews indirectly compared Barack Obama to Jesus Christ as he introduced the former head of the DNC and 2004 presidential candidate as "the man who really laid out the path for Barack Obama. He was the St. John the Baptist...leading for that fellow." In the Christian faith St. John the Baptist is considered to be the precursor to Jesus Christ, so in Matthews' metaphor of Democratic presidential politics that would have to make Obama, Jesus. For his part Dean, justifiably, appeared uncomfortable with the comparison, as he appreciated Matthews' promise to "not make any further reference there to the Deity." After that awkward introduction Matthews, in the ensuing segment, went on to call Republicans like John McCain, Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney "imbeciles" for their various criticisms of Obama, as he continued his "idiot button" routine that he began on Tuesday's show.

Comparing the baby-killer Howard Dean to John the Baptist is vulgar at best—or blasphemous. But then, baby-killer “Catholic” Matthews wouldn’t get that.
Feh. Don’t pay him any mind. This is matthews way of having some fun by riling up anyone who bothers to listen to him. He’s turned himself into bad joke.
Matthews really needs to be thrown a life preserver cause he is seriously drowning in the liberal and Barry kool-aid.
These guys really are full of themselves, aren’t they? They’re just sure they’ve “arrived” — the new age they’ve been waiting for. And, sure enough, there is chaos all around; but no matter — they’ve “arrived”! What a bunch of self-congratulating clowns!

As a Christian, I take exception to this analogy. But I don’t expect much out of a Democratic hack like Matthews.
Or like Larry Sinclair to the current one.

Nice! One has to wonder if Chrissy’s wife is jealous of his man-love for Bambi, or relieved he will leave her alone for awhile?
Mathews belongs in a mental hospital, there is no doubt about it.
And why not? The WH just appointed NBC’s Tom Brokaw to a commission!
