I remember there was a punk band of pre-teens in the 80s, Old Skull (sons of musicians) who did a couple albums. One song, "Homeless", had one young'un screeching "I hate you Ronald Reagan!" at the end.
More recently in the Boston area there was and is the Mystery Tramps, who were 13-16 yrs old when they put out an EP produced by Greg Hawkes of the Cars..it helped that one of their dads knew Greg. The kids played an all ages gig at a bar and grille in Salem. All went well. Over the years "all ages" gigs have given young punk/rock fans a chance to see music (but not necessarily in bars...maybe a Legion Hall...).
Buy those kids a...root...beer!
Kids not playing music in bars? Gee, the next thing you know they are going to say kids shouldn’t be having sex with their teachers......
Dropkick Murphys had ‘Tessie’.
It won’t be better than ‘Charlie on the MTA’.
Morons raising morons
As much as it gladdens my heart to see kids with real guitars instead of video controllers in their hands, the venue is not proper.
Instead of vague support from other bands, how about an assist into an all ages venue or a time slot when shows are all ages and non smoking? That is what we do here.
I kinda hate to admit it...but I am a Dropkick Murphys fan.
My wife thinks they are insane. Good party music.
