A teenage girl is suing a tattoo artist for £10,000 after she allegedly asked him for three stars on her face - but ended up with 56.
Eighteen-year-old Kimberley Vlaminck paid £55 for 'the graffiti that has ruined my life' in her Belgian home town of Courtrai.
Kimberley says the tattoos have ruined her life She claimed the Romanian tattooist who performed the artwork misunderstood her French and English.
She claims she fell asleep while he was doing his work... and awoke to 'this nightmare'. 'It is terrible for me,' said Kimberley. 'I cannot go out on to the street, I am so embarrassed. I just look horrible.' 'I think he didnt understand what I wanted. He spoke only fractured English and French.
'But I explicitly said in my native tongue, French, and also in a little bit of English when he looked confused, that I wanted three little stars only near my left eye.' Rouslan Toumaniantz, who runs the tattoo parlour called The Tattoo Box in Courtrai, denies her claim. He said she knew 'exactly what she wanted'. He added: 'She was awake and looked into the mirror several times as the procedure was taking place.
'The trouble all started when she went home and her father and boyfriend threw a fit. 'They are saying things now like I doped her or hypnotised her. What rubbish!
'She asked for 56 stars and thats what she got.' To remove the stars would require surgery costing £8,500. But even the most advanced laser techniques would, while removing the tattoos, leave deep white marks all across Kimberley's face. She has launched legal proceedings against Toumaniantz seeking damages, plus the money for the operation.

His version is completely credible. Her version is implausible, considering the pain involved in getting the work done.
He denies that she was drugged and from what is reported in the story, she makes no claim to being drugged. Even without the pain, her falling asleep during the procedure doesn't make any sense. I'd expect that its not one of those humdrum, relaxing events that makes a person nod off when its happening. Maybe if you could find a few other people that slept through getting tattoos, I might change my mind. Short of that, I'm not aware of ANY support for her version of events.
Never have received tattoo other than my upper arms but I nearly fell asleep while getting my tat on my left arm. After awhile the pain was numbing and it didn’t bother me that much.
It looks like a three-fingered claw on her face.
Needs more cowbells.
I'll bet you would have gotten alert pretty quick if the artist started tattooing stars on your nose.
It was cool that Daddy didn't like it (purpose, and all); but when boyfriend nixed it, she went into denial.
She is giving this tattoo artist some advertisement. None of us knew of him before this.
Lie down with a tatoo artist, wake up with as many tatoos as fleas.
Scarred for Life?
More like Starred for Life.
A signed, witnessed consent form would show what she agreed to.
I was thinking the same thing. Aren’t tatoo colors not usually so bright? Aren’t they kind of muted?
The person who fell asleep was her father (assuming that she has one). Anyone letting their kid get a tattoo is a big-time loser in my book...and if the kid did it on her own, the parent(s) is still a loser, as the kid OBVIOUSLY was not raised with any semblance of morals.
Poor girl. I feel sorry for her.
I never understood the appeal of tattoos. I don't get the whole tattoo experience and being physically branded for life. I know they can't be removed easily, though I suppose the technology will be improving in the coming years as more people may want to remove their body art.
Body alteration isn't appealing to me, and that includes breast implants, cheek implants, and whatever other implants people have. It's not only unhealthy, but they look phony and tattoos aren't any different, in my book.
Some people are fixated on appearances. The root of it is a poor self image - and this sometimes manifests when we are excessively critical of other people's appearances, as well.
I think that being real and natural is always beautiful, whatever size we are. Tattoos just aren't part of our bodies they are unnatural.
And the adjacent skin turns whitish? Yeah, I've seen that happen with a mosquito bite, I guess. Except the lines are so straight...
Yes, since they’re under the skin, they would be slightly muted, but they might be darker when they’re new. But in one of the pics on one of the two threads I’ve seen on this, the stars look a little smeared (drawn on?). And if those tats are new, her face would be very red and swollen on that side.
I’m really coming down on the side of it’s being a hoax, as some have already said.
You would be surprised how many of them work at banks & law offices. It's disgusting, to say the least (especially the tramp stamp above the butt that peaks out under that SHORT hooker top)!
I know I must be getting OLD because I can't imagine dressing for work like that!
One two three. That should be easy even if neither spoke any of the other’s language.
I don’t see a constellation, however I do see Uranus.
