Now she's down to eight lives.
An eight-week-old black and white kitten earned the name Lucky today after she was tossed out of a pickup truck on Staten Island, got trapped in the wheel well of the car directly behind -- and lived to meow another day.
The car following behind belonged to Family Court Judge Catherine DiDomenico, who driving to work on Hylan Boulevard.
It was 8:45 a.m. The light had changed and DiDomenico was driving slowly in the left lane when she saw the driver of a burgundy pickup truck toss out what she thought was a furry black towel.
When she looked again, she realized it was a kitten.
"I thought, 'Oh my Lord, he threw out a kitten," she said.

Years ago, in California, a guy drove up alongside a car with out of state plates towing an open trailer. Somebody in the car started methodically tossing kittens from the car into the trailer.
Unnoticed, a CHP officer saw the last part of the action, and pulled over BOTH drivers. He showed the trailer tower what had happened, and recovered 8 kittens, and wished him a safe trip...then moved on to the perp.
Animal cruelty laws were fairly lax back then, so instead, ‘throwing objects from a vehicle’ got him 8 counts of “littering”, and the judge blandly gave him the max $1,000 fine EACH.
Great story, but kittens are usually born in bunches, wonder how many more this freak threw out of his truck?
I haven’t read comments, but I’ll add my approval of those who I’m sure recommended throwing the perp out of a moving car to see if he survives. For Heaven’s sake, it would have been more humane to strangle the little thing. Thank goodness the kitteh survived and will have a good home.
At one time, children, being little savages needing civilizing, were taught what “dominion over the beasts” was by thier parents and teachers, but I guess that has gone by the wayside with the rest of our culture and mores.
The picture is of the supervisor of the animal control center. The judge didn’t take the cat, and it’s up for adoption. After this story, it’s probably already gone.
I hope someone throws that SOB out of a moving vehicle. :(
What a beautiful little creature. I’ll bet she has already been adopted!
Toss the creep who threw out the kitten in jail for good.
