Now she's down to eight lives.
An eight-week-old black and white kitten earned the name Lucky today after she was tossed out of a pickup truck on Staten Island, got trapped in the wheel well of the car directly behind -- and lived to meow another day.
The car following behind belonged to Family Court Judge Catherine DiDomenico, who driving to work on Hylan Boulevard.
It was 8:45 a.m. The light had changed and DiDomenico was driving slowly in the left lane when she saw the driver of a burgundy pickup truck toss out what she thought was a furry black towel.
When she looked again, she realized it was a kitten.
"I thought, 'Oh my Lord, he threw out a kitten," she said.

If she didn’t, she has no business being a judge. I hope the SOB is thrown in jail for animal cruelty. I’m sure there were other kittens as well that weren’t so fortunate. :(

I once saw a young woman toss a young kitten out of an 8 story window. She thought that would kill him, but it didn't. Kittens reach a very stately terminal velocity very quickly and have survived far greater falls.
I picked him up and took him home ~ named him AGNEW.
What a great cat. Had him around for over 20 years.

Nice story. I would have cheered had I observed someone throw that woman out of the window. And I would not have made any attempt to break her fall.

Did you give the woman a little lesson in how to treat innocent creatures?

Being an educated man I already knew that kittens have a very slow terminal velocity. He almost floated down. One source I checked just now (looking up terminal velocity kitten) says almost any cat can survive a 32 story fall without injury.
The woman probably thought he was a magic cat ~ stupid woman.

Good article, but the writer is an idiot.
Lucky napped in her cage on a towel while rolled up rug while Jennifer Waterbury, the director of the shelter, reported that a vet had examined Lucky and found "there were no injuries at all."
First they used a jack to life the rear of the car

I have a ragdoll (Ollie) and a Burmese (Chessie).
Two wonderful kitties, both.
Nice gif, by the way.

I have two cats, the older one, about 10, is quite the character, found her wandering around the property one day but thought she was my nearest neighbor’s cat, the neighbor lived about a mile away, and didn’t think anything until about a week later I saw her again, she was looking kinda skinny so I called her, she came streaking over to me and has been with me since. The other was a kitten I rescued to keep the older one company, didn’t work, the older one tolerates but won’t be friendly, the young one tries to buddy up but no luck!:)

I was working at a dealership circa 2001. A customer came in with a Chevy Avalanche that had a strange squeaking noise. Even when it wasn’t moving... A kitten crawled into the coil spring and was riding in the vehicle for a couple days! Lifting the vehicle on a hoist opened up a space in the coils and a terrified, scared kitten came out. There was a scrape down the center of the kittens head from the coils contracting, but other than that he was fine. My service writer took him as a pet and the hair on that part of the head grew back white!
