It’s ironic that nobody 70 years ago had any idea how quickly everything with Lou Gehrig would unfold. He retired in late June of 1939, gave his “Luckiest Man on the Face of the Earth” speech on July 4, 1939 and died in the summer of 1941.

Tough to figure out how they have the standings formatted, but it looks like the Yanks were 35-9? Sick!

Tough to figure out how they have the standings formatted . . .

It would be easier if it wasn't blurry. I try to focus the print but when the original is blurry making it bigger just makes it big and blurry.

I wonder how long it took to sink in with both Gehrig and the public just how horrible ALS is.
