But it still has both inadequate battery life for heavy PDA users, and lacks a good enough antenna for rural Americans.
It is very pretty and has a decent interface. And excellent screen.
and you know this how? The iPhone 3G S is not even available yet. Apple claims:
Talk time:
- Up to 5 hours on 3G
- Up to 12 hours on 2G
Standby time:
- Up to 300 hours
Internet use:
- Up to 5 hours on 3G
- Up to 9 hours on Wi-Fi
Audio playback:
- Up to 30 hours on audio
Video playback:
- Up to 10 hours of video
Even the 2.5G had an antenna good enough for rural usage, as my client’s sales and field reps can attest - they’re quite often the only people in the room at on-site meetings that have usable signal at all.
As for the battery life, we have heavy PDA usage and we have few issues.
I bought a battery booster for mine. It’s pretty cool. I can’t live without my IPHONE. It’s one of those things that once you have it, you just can’t imagine not having it.
My greatest complaint about the iPhone is two-fold...
Not having a replaceable battery (only being able to “recharge” the phone by plugging it in to a computer, electrical outless, or lighter) as opposed to carrying a few extra batteries, when you know you’ll have no way to recharge it for a week or more)
And not being able to change the sound of incoming mail messages (like you can with ring tones, and incoming SMS messages), without “Jail Breaking” the phone. Hopefully, this has been addressed in the new OS release...
