Love the new iPhone but have a lot of problems with AT&T right now.

AT&T can’t cope with MMS right now while the rest of the world can?

AT&T can’t tether right now like the rest of the world?

AT&T screws existing customers with a $200 “tax” if you want to upgrade now as opposed to 6 months or more?

I have been an AT&T customer since they were AT&T wireless...Cingular...and AT&T again and I feel as if I am being nickeled and dimed to death by these b@stards. It’s not like I already pay a premium for my iPhone plan (actually FOUR iPhone plans as my wife and two daughters have their own iPhones).

I swear, if another carrier gets a hold of the iPhone, I’m switching faster than Arlen Spector and telling AT&T to kiss my a**.

Call AT&T support and politely ask to be allowed to upgrade. If they repeat the demand for the $200, ask to speak to a "retention specialist." Talk to them about the new Palm Pre and switching to Sprint and how you might enjoy it. They do not want to lose customers. That kind of talk has gotten me lots of concessions in the past...

$200 tax? How old are you? Its not a tax. You just have to pay for the one you got before you can buy another. The iphone is subsidized. You bought a $500 phone for $200 down with the rest payed for over the duration of your contract. Try buying a car before you have paid for the one you already own. Grow up!
