PITY the unwitting par ents who take their kids to see "Land of the Lost," Will Ferrell's terminally stupid, sloppy, campy and cheesy -- and thoroughly unexciting and unfunny -- experiment in "family entertainment."
Those parents will surely be cringing as:
* Ferrell reaches into his pants to pleasure himself.
* A half-man, half-ape repeatedly fondles Anna Friel's breasts.
* Ferrell, under the influence of a hallucinogenic substance, strokes the aforementioned creature's hair and contemplates kissing him.
* Ferrell, out of nowhere, blasphemes about Jesus.
Nominally based on Sid and Marty Krofft's innocuous '70s TV show, "Land of the Lost," the film -- which reportedly carries a price tag of more than $100 million -- does not seem aimed at any identifiable demographic except fans of bad movies.

My son thinks Will Farrell AND his movies should be shot on sight.
Will Ferrell is an idiot! Anybody who pays anything to see him must be a dumb liberal!.....
That is VERY cold.
I actually thought Old School was one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen.
Ferrell tries way to hard to be funny and improvs too much. He’s better when he’s playing a serious role and has to stay within the script.
Ferrel was on Conan and they showed a clip of the movie wherein he dumped a bowl of urine over his head, to hide his scent from a dinosaur...he dumped the urine over his head, said the urine tasted bad, burned his yes, then burned everything else.
It was horrible, completely unfunny...the audience and Conan just sat there, there were almost no laughs, this, presumably, for the funniest clip they could bring to Conan’s show.
I just watched that dreck and said to myself “no way will I ever step foot in a theatre and watch that crap.”

I enjoyed his stint with “The Bear” on Man vs. Wild.
I have no interest in this movie, although I do like some of the movies he does, like Elf, Stranger than Fiction, and sadly, Blades of Glory.
I thought he was also good in Bewitched, and in a serious movie called “Winter Passing” (although I watched it for Zooey Deschannel, the better of the Deschannell sisters).
Still, I can’t think of any movies he has done which would really be “family” in the traditional sense. Even “Kicking and Screaming”, which was enjoyable, was also crude and rude.
I was kinda surprised when the preview showed him saying “This blows.” Is that acceptable now to say that when kids can be watching TV?
Wasn’t there an old joke going around that Chevy was only funny when he was on drugs ?
I liked that bit with Grylls, too...but I suspect much of it was faked.
There’s no way Ferrell’s agency would let him rappel down a sheer cliff suspended only by a tree branch buried in snow...I suspect those scenes were all staged, as Grylls has been wont to do, with ropes, supplies and food to get him through those two days safely.
It was fun to watch, though!

Yes, it would be fun to watch him go out with Survivorman.
Heh heh, Les would smoke Bear Grylls!
